This was a great find! We had originally planned to spend a couple of hours and ended up spending the better part of the day. Located just across from the San Jacinto National Park, the Battleship Texas allows you to take a self guided tour and explore the last of the Dreadnaughts. They have restored a large part of the ship and are continuing. You can explore much of the ship, even the engine room was open.. I must admit that I chickened out after I went down to the first Catwalk.. it was kinda creepy. If you can make it all the way down, Kudos to you. :)
This drednought served in both world wars. It is moored next to the San Jacinto monument east of the city.
