    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Woodlands Waterway is a recently developed marine thoroughfare through an entertainment, dining, & shopping area of The Woodlands. In future years with much developement planned for it, it is anticipated that it will be a popular means of getting around to various sites in this area. Pick up points include The Woodlands Mall & The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, with the outdoor gathering area of Market Street and the event and concert location of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion nearby. Whether you have an actual destination in mind, or just feel like a short boat ride, it's a fun activity to partake in while in The Woodlands.

    Woodlands Waterway

The Woodlands Waterway and Waterway Square are a 1.4 mile long water transportation corridor connecting businesses, homes, restaurants, and shops in this bustling location. Waterway Cruisers, trolleys, bicycles and pedestrian walkways allow visitors to leave their cars and step into a relaxing, attractive cultural center all connected by the water.

The centerpiece of The Waterway is Waterway Square, a one-acre plaza with multiple water features including a 120-foot long terraced, boomer jets that spray water 75-feet into the air, and fountains choreographed to music and accented with colored lights. A children's interactive fountain set into a mosaic work of art adds to the festive ambiance at this urban venue.

Residents make their homes along The Waterway at one of several urban communities – the stately brick homes of The Remington Brownstones; the edgy, urban Waterway Lofts, and the townhomes at Riva Row. The Boardwalk at Town Center, a 450-residence luxury apartment community, features sophisticated touches like rooftop gardens overlooking The Waterway and adjoining Riva Row Park with kayak and canoe rentals. The Millennium Waterway Ave, a luxury apartment community in The Waterway Square District is Houston's first LEED Certified Silver multifamily property. Now under construction is The Millennium Six Pines consisting of an additional 314 luxury apartment with a host of custom amenities.

The Waterway connects The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, Waterway Square and The Woodlands Mall. The office buildings located at Waterway Square serve as the home for many of The Woodlands major employers, including Anadarko Petroleum, Woodforest National Bank, U.S. Oncology and American Financial and Automotive Services.

The Waterway Square district is not only host to office buildings, but also offers visitors a variety of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and outdoor green spaces. The plaza and waterfall area offer a welcoming outdoor environment. Choreographed fountains feature colored lighting and music during evening hours.
