I've mentioned many times that we enjoy visiting museums, so it comes as no surprise that we made a point to tour the Jefferson Historical Museum.
The museum was a wonderful means of glimpsing into Jefferson's past. Several floors of interesting artifacts made our visit an enjoyable one.
The first floor contained items contributed by families connected with the town, which included such things as old photos, maps, a lovely doll collection, China and ceramic pieces, titilating details on the Diamond Bessie murder (see custom tips) and every day objects.

Subsequent floors offered a fantastic collection of Caddo Indian arrowheads and spearpoints, masterpieces of art and fine furniture. The basement area contained more rustic pieces, machinery and such.
A knowledgable docent, named Debbie, filled us in on many details of the town's history. It was a real pleasure touring the museum. The Moseley family figures prominently in its success. Hours are daily from 9:30 am-4:30 pm.
