The Boardwalk has many restaurants situated on the water with lovely views while you eat. The restaurants are all on the pricey side but you will not find one that has bad food. There are many events on the boardwalk all throughout the year. Here is the website http://www.kemahboardwalk.com/ before you visit check out the site and see what is going...more
Kemah Boardwalk is about an hour from Houston (including traffic). It is a miniature version, however, so if you are expecting the works don't get that excited. However, for a day/night away from the city it's a great solution. There are rides for children (even a new roller coaster), fun restaurants, shopping, and all while listening to (and...more
Boardwalks are popular destinations, especially for families. The Kemah Boardwalk offers restaurants, shops and rides for the kids! Try the Ferris Wheel or take the train; jump onto the Crazy Submarine or try your skill on the Climbing Wall. My favorite ride has always been the Carousel, because it's not something that spins or careens seemingly...more
Since we're from the Northeast United States, Texas has many birds we've never seen, but only heard of through the years. The pelican is one of these birds.I was thrilled to catch sight of this Brown Pelican in flight while we were visiting the waterfront area in Kemah. Brown Pelicans are most always seen near salt water and inhabit both coasts....more
As we approached the waterfront, a large, colorful vessel loaded with passengers revved it's motor and took off from the dock. It was the BEAST. As it departed, music blared over the sound system and in no time at all it was just a dot on the horizon. The Beast takes you on a twenty minute tour of the bay and leaves regularly from the boardwalk...more

Swamp Shack is one of my family favorite places to go. They usually have bands 7 days a week and on the weekends they have bands in the afternoon starting at 2 and another in the evening. You also have the choice to sit outside, inside, or even upstairs. The servers are great and I have never had bad service there. They have great crawfish and...more
Outriggers is a seafood and oyster bar on the water. This restaurant is locally known to park your boat at while your spending a day on the water. They have great drinks, good food, and most weekends they have live music on the lower lever. We usually eat here every Sunday after church to have our crawfish and oysters. Its a great local joint but...more

WOW is all I can say! I had Landry's for the second time in my life last night and it was pure amazingness! Yes it was super expensive but well worth it if you want some goooood seafood. I had this Mahi Mahi with Avocado and steamed veggies. Wow the sauce they add is wonderful. They give you bread before your food comes out and also a salad with...more
The Aquarium restaurants are more like an amusement park these days than a restaurant. I remember eating here many years ago and it was nothing more than a few fish tanks and a great meal. However, now, it's got anything and everything you could imagine. The Aquarium at Kemah has an upstairs area, outside area, bar, and gift shop. They have great...more
Inside the Kemah Boardwalk you will see an array of food choices. The buildings are HUGE and when you get out there you start fumbling with which one you might choose. If you are in the mood for mexican food than Cadillac is going to be your place. It is actually a part of the Landry's restaurant chain. They have multiple floors to eat on and even a...more
A number of shops overlook the square on Kemah's waterfront where there is a small boardwalk. When I'm near a boardwalk the first thing I look for is...FUDGE! This shop had a wide selection of flavors to choose from, so after some thought I chose SNICKERDOODLE. Hmmm, fudge goes quickly when sharing with three other people!
One portion of this store was loaded with sugary confections encased in glass, while the remaining area was stocked to the roof with toys, stuffed animals, stained glass ornaments, jewelry, cards and gifts.
It was difficult to browse here and not leave with something. I chose the fudge, but you'd find many other temptations at Kandy Kemah.
