ROMA Italian restaurant. A true taste of Italy, plus some unique touches; run by true Italians who work hard to please. Doing business in a former Dairy Queen, it could be one of Lancaster's best-kept secrets but is frequented by loyal customers who make it one of their regular eating-out locations.
There are smoking-no smoking sections, as well as a patio eating area; with Italian scenes on the walls and map-of-Italy placemats, you get into the mood very quickly. The prices are low to moderate with excellent serving portions, being more generous than they appear and definitely filling you up. The service is helpful, friendly, and timely, and the staff shows their appreciation to their regular customers with a hearty greeting when you open the doors and sincere 'thank you' as you leave.

Favorite Dish: My personal favorite is the calzone. There are several different choices, but my favorite has pepperoni and plenty of cheese--and they're HUGE! You need a fork to eat these and I always end up cutting mine in half, then consuming it slice by scrumptious slice. I also recommend the veal parmiagana (sp!) as it's like none you've ever tasted; very subtle but flavorful. Another knock-out favorite is the pizza: you can order it with your choice of toppings, and it's served on a cake pedastal-type of plate, which gives it a real air of being special!
