Who doesn't like to have a bit of fun while visiting? You need to plan an hour or two of bowling! Up in Lewisville, north of downtown, there is a fun center that has always exeeded my expectations. It is the local AMF Bowling Lanes.

One of the best parts? They have a full bar!!! You can see how nice (and big) the drinks are in my pictures! They also have food, arcade, pool tables, and a mini sports bar-type area.

When is the best time to come?? During Xtreme (Cosmic/Midnight) Bowling! They usually have it later (10pm+) on weekend nights. They turn down the lights, have neon pins, and jam some music. It is a blast with friends.

They have great, extended hours so you can catch a game or two at any hour :) If you do decide to go on a week night please call in advance because they do have leagues that will take up most lanes. Great family idea!

    Monday/Tuesday 1pm-12am
    Wednesday/Thursday 9am-12am
    Friday/Saturday 9am-2am (yes, that's right 2am!)
    Sunday 9am-11pm

Equipment: You can rent everything here, but feel free to bring you own. Of course, if their pro shop is open you could buy your own ball, shoes or bag there!

    Lakeview Marina

by keeweechic Written Dec 9, 2003

The marina at Lake Dallas on the shores of Lake Lewisville has a new dock. It is open 6 days a week: 8:30 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm. All lakes in North Texas are manmade, and many are owned and operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The main fish caught in the lake are large- mouth bass, white bass, white crappie, hybrid and striped bass and blue and channel catfish.

    Dr Peppers/Seven UP Ballpark

The ballpark is about 14 miles west of Lewisville. There are 8,800 theatre-style seats in the stadium, while outfield grassy areas can hold another 1,800. There are also 29 private suites. The whole park has been designed really well with plenty of space and lovely landscaping. Plenty of restrooms and concessions stands as well. There is a high-resolution video screen in left-centre field so if you are at a distance, you can see all that is happening up close.

The ballpark is part of a 74-acre development, which includes Stonebriar shopping mall, restaurants and other commercial sights.

    Texas Stadium

Texas Stadium is around 15 miles south of Lewisville and was built in 1971 and it has to be one of the ugliest stadium (externally) I have ever seen. It always looks unfinished to me. The stadium is home to the Dallas Cowboys football team – 5 times world champions. Aside from football games, festivals and concerts are also held here. You can take a tour of the complex all year round. The stadium has a unique hole in the roof, so that in bad weather, spectators can be protected from bad weather.
