Lewisville Things to Do

  • Cosmic Bowling

Who doesn't like to have a bit of fun while visiting? You need to plan an hour or two of bowling! Up in Lewisville, north of downtown, there is a fun center that has always exeeded my expectations. It is the local AMF Bowling Lanes. One of the best parts? They have a full bar!!! You can see how nice (and big) the drinks are in my pictures! They...

  • My Favorite Sandwich

Schlotzsky’s is one of my very favorite places to eat. It’s a sandwich shop that you can take out or eat in the shop with plenty of tables always available. It’s a bit pricier ($6-7 for a sandwich) than most other sandwich shops but definitely worth it. It's a place where you order at the counter, then wait for your food and pick it up when they...

  • Popular Breakfast and Home Cookin'

Many of my friends and family love the cracker barrel. It has a laid back, southern home feel that is apparent as you walk up to the white rocking chairs on the porch waiting area. It's usually busy all morning and has a constant flow of customers all day long. I've eaten both meals and breakfast here and find it disappointing. The only thing I've...

  • BEST Enchiladas in Dallas!

This is one of those restaurants where you really can't go wrong. It has anything you would ever want from drinks to food. From enchiladas to tacos, mariscos to fajitas, it's all fantastic. It's particularly hopping on Friday afternoons for happy hour and dinner. I have eaten at the ones in Addison and Lewisville and find them equal in service and...

  • Best Fast Food

Yes, America is all about fast food. It's cheap, fast, and easy! While in Lewisville I always make sure to stop at Taco Bueno!! It is great tex-mex food with a lower price. Although loaded in calories I always save one meal to splurge and this is definitely the one!*No alcohol is available like some places around here though. My favorite meal is...

  • Fabulous mexican food!

This is a wonderful mexican restuarant in the Lewisville area- not to be missed! They have all of the usual choices but then have a wide range of more unusual menu choices- especially involving seafood. I've been here twice on trips out to Lewisville and have been delighted each time. I get 1 more business trip to Lewisville and you can bet I'm...

  • Best Cafe

La Madeline is my new favorite place to eat. The locations are not gigantic but they always have room, although they do get busy during lunch. The tables and chairs are smaller and it just adds a very french feeling to it. It's very well done.La Madeline serves food, then has a separate bakery and coffee counter. So if you want a great meal or just...

So after a week (months/years) of sitting at bars and searching for cute girls/guys at the clubs it might get kinda old. Or you might just want something a bit more engaging. Well, at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Lewisville Friday and Saturday night bowling becomes one big dance club. Xtreme (Cosmic/Midnight) Bowling usually starts later, around 10pm. They turn down the lights, have neon pins, and jam some music. It is a blast with friends. You can dance, drink, and meet other people who are having just as much fun as you are. And if you're not having one of those "on" nights you can still have fun bowling.

The best part? They have a full bar!!! You can see how nice (and big) the drinks are in my pictures! They also have food, arcade, pool tables, and a mini sports bar-type area.

They have great, extended hours so you can catch a game or two at any hour :) If you do decide to go on a week night please call in advance because they do have leagues that will take up most lanes. Great family idea!

    Monday/Tuesday 1pm-12am
    Wednesday/Thursday 9am-12am
    Friday/Saturday 9am-2am (yes, that's right 2am!)
    Sunday 9am-11pm

Favorite thing: I stumbled on Lewisville by accident... I was lost - not unusual. I just kept driving .. looking for some place else when suddenly I realised I was a lot further north than where I wanted to be. Although I had no information on the town, I had the camera in the car and decided to drive around the quaint little downtown area with its old styled buildings and homey stores and will go back one day (when I'm lost again) and see the area properly .
