Joe's Pizza & Pasta on Galloway St.: Homemade Pizza and Pasta to die for!
The restaurant has the most delicious smell of Italian food and yeast risen bread. It permeates the neighborhood drawing in the locals. It is small and modest but so homey--it's like an Italian mother's kitchen. It features hand painted murals on the inside and outside walls. Inside there are arches that really do give the impression of an Italian home. It is so much fun to eat there. The staff is wonderful and very attentive.
Favorite Dish: I love the chicken marsal. My 5 year old grand-daughter thinks they make the best homemade cheese pizza in the world--and she has a very picky appetite! The chicken marsal is white breast of chicken with garlic and mushrooms, a very tasty broth served over linguini noodles. It comes with homemade Italian rolls and a wonderful green salad with a house dressing that I have been trying to figure out how they make it--it is so delicious--it's like a country French-Italian dressing that I have never tasted anywhere else. Everyone I take there loves it and can't figure out why it isn't more crowded. It's a popular spot with the locals and the service is excellent.

On the Border
'On the Border 'are a chain of restaurants through Texas with a hacienda-style look and a rustic interior decorated with Sombreros, Chaps and Mexican folk art. On The Border features the unique seasonings and spices, rich south-of-the-border recipes and mesquite grilling. You can buy some of the products at the restaurant and even in some supermarkets.
On The Border was even credited with 'inventing' the chicken fajita.
Favorite Dish: 'THE ULTIMATE FAJITA' - which is Mesquite-fired steak, marinated chicken breast, smoked BBQ ribs and sautéed shrimp. Served with roasted red potatoes and grilled onions with homemade tortillas, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. Their Salsa (which they bottle) is soooo good, the award winning margaritas are pretty good also.
It claims to be the 'Best Buffet in Town', well I haven't tried many here but I would say that it wouldn't too far wrong. Mainly an Asian menu rageing from Mongolian BBQ to Sushi to Dim Sum and all the other wonderful stir fry dishes. There is also Fish and Seafood and bbq ribs and if you are not adventurous at all then you can get pizza and other middle of the road dishes. Heaven forbid, you can also get Texas Toast.
There are various choices of fresh fruit and ice cream for dessert. Its all, eat as much as you can/like and good value. Service is good also.
They offer Lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The price is cheaper Mon - Sat for lunch and dinner, cheaper Mon - Thurs. Seniors over 65 get 10% off and kids under 4 yeat free.
This is only the second Applebee’s I have been to in the States but really, this chain of restaurants is good value, good food and usually good service. They have a lot of American classics like American classics like the Applebee's House Sirloin to their own e dishes like the Crispy Orange Skillet and Oriental Salad. The menu’s will also vary depending on which State or even city you are in.
Favorite Dish: Their Take Two offer means you can choose from any two dishes in this special offer and create one main meal.. a pretty good deal if you can’t make up your mind. Their Riblets is also a favourite. I know I had a chicken pasta dish but I can’t remember what it included… I do remember though it was very good.

Romano's Macaroni Grill
This place is good. Relaxed atmosphere, good service. If you order wine, they bring a bottle to you and you mark on the paper table cloth how many glasses you have and that's what you pay for.
If its your birthday, a staff member (if its not her night off) will sing to you and you get free dessert with a candle. Food was excellent.
Favorite Dish: Veal Saltimbocca , Penne Rustica were very good and don't forget to leave room for the Tiramisu ... wonderful!!
Joes Crab Shack
Joes has the tag line "We've got the crabs" as well as advertising 'Free Crabs Tomorrow'. Of course tomorrow never comes.
The concept was ‘Build a tacky looking shack of a restaurant, give the interior the feel of a Gulf Coast fishing camp and serve all different kinds of crabs - cooked in a myriad of ways’. That pretty much sums it up. The seafood is good but don’t have the fried calamari – its cut up into small pieces and pretty much all fried away.
Favorite Dish: Dessert : Key Lime Pie which is made with real keylime juice, condensed milk & graham cracker crust. Topped with whipped cream. I don't have so much of a sweet tooth to eat a whole portion, but the two spoonfuls I had, it was wonderful.
Trail Dust Steak House
I'm told that people travel miles for this restaurant although I haven't been to any of them myself but if you are looking for some steak Texas-style there there is plenty here. The different cuts have names like 'cowboy' (20oz porterhouse), 'Bull Shipper' (50 oz porterhouse), 'Rattlesnake' (12 oz. center-cut Marinated Pepper Steak ), 'Gunslinger' (14 oz. juicy Kansas City Strip ), just to name a few. Along with other items like chicken wings, shrimp, Quesadillas, sandwiches, salads and diet-busting desserts.
The restaurant is just down the road from the Mesquite Rodeo, Hampton Inn and Suites and Convention centre. Its also right alongside I-635.
