The Landa Park has 51 acres, with trails (including the Panther Canyon Nature Trail), miniature train, paddle boats on the Landa Lake, miniature golf, picnic tables and more.
I took an early morning stroll in the Landa Park; it was still quite chilly (in December!), people were jogging or walking their dogs. The ducks in the lake were also noisily starting their day.
Along the paths I enjoyed the over 50 different tree species belonging to the William and Dolores Schumann Arboretum. The Chinese pistache was blazing red. There was mist over the lake. It was a nice start for my day.
I guess my standards for parks are very high. I would rate this one a 3/10. Nice trees, the river runs through it (but you can't swim), too many parking lots and an ok small trail. My dog loves it though! I feel this park is too structured. There are paddle boats, a pool, a little train and many covered picnic areas.
The jewel of New Braunfels, this beautiful park is a favorite spot for picnics, boating or tubing on the Comal River, golf, and other outdoor recreation. It's very much like Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.
