Matador's: Upscale Sports Bar in Terrell

by Basaic

The Matador Club is an upscale sports bar aimed at adults especially sports enthusiasts. They have flatscreen TV's to keep sports fans entertained along with a digital online Jukebox for today's hits in music. When I was there the bar had a number of attractive young women inside. I heard it can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday Nights. I saw some people in jeans and some dressed well.

Austin's West Sixth Street: Live Music, Bars, Street Food & Crazy People

by Mainemermaid

This is a must-do for any adult visitor who enjoys a party atmosphere. A couple dozen bars line W. 6th Street featuring a wide variety of live music: B.D. Riley's Irish Pub, The Jackalope, Maggie Mae's, Casino El Camino, Key Bar, Annie's West, Coyote Ugly, the Blind Pig, Shakespeare's Pub, Malaia World Lounge, and further down the street Momo's and others. Lots of street food, especially pizza. Tee-shirt & souvenir stores. Dancing clubs. A mechanical bull. Rooftop terraces are great for people watching. Come as you are or dress like a hooker, its all good. Cowboy boots are the perfect accessory.

The Flying Saucer: Great beer selection at The Flying Saucer!

by Dutchnatasja

The Flying saucer is located in the heart of Sundance Square. It’s an old two story building with the main bar on the first floor. The interior is like an English pub with a twist of Texas. The walls are covered with personalized plates to honor those who have tasted at least 200 different kind of beers. Some persons have two or even three plates. What more can I say than well done! If you want a plate as well, you have to become a member of the UFO Club (±$14). There is also dinnerware on the ceiling that looks like ‘Delfts Blauw’, which is typically Dutch. This bar has over 70 beers on tap and many varieties in bottles. They have lagers, ambers, browns, pales, domestic, or imported; they even got ‘beer soup’ (sorry, didn’t try it). In the summer you can sit on the roof patio and if you’re lucky you can enjoy the live music of the ‘8.0 bar’ across the street. Especially on Wednesdays...

the back porch: port aransas

by rancherpowell

This open air watering hole made us feel like we were FINALLY on an island. Mingling with the tourists , locals & fishermen we lazed away an entire afternoon. Later we returned for the live music scene.......Augie Meyers no less! aka Texas Tornadoes & Sir Douglas Quintet. The place was on fire with activity .......dancers, families, singles......We had a big time. Apparently the live music scene on this quirky little island is one of Texas best kept secrets. My wife counted 8 locations with music. Locals were friendly,....tourists were , plentiful. We're told Spring Winter & Fall are best times to avoid crowds. We'll definetly go back. The back Porch seems to be the epicenter flip flops & shorts

6th St. Bar District, Austin Texas: Austin - 6th St

by ATXtraveler

It is almost impossible to interview a 18-30 yr old person who has visited Austin, TX and not have 6th St. mentioned at least one time in their recollection of their time here. That is a true testament to everything that is available to a tourist here on 6th.From Jazz Bars, to pubs, to dance and night clubs... you can get what you want at a great price! Daily drink specials, free entrance, and lots of street vendors make for a great night! The site listed below is a great resource to learn what is going on! This is Austin... you will see cowboy boots, flip flops, and also tuxedos... its just a matter of who is there... there is no dress "code" though.

West End District: Dallas - West End

by ATXtraveler

In the 1800's one of the founders of Dallas, John Neely Bryan established a trading post on the bluff of the Trinity River with the Caddo Indians. As business grew, so did the West End of Dallas. The West End was the main location for the train station, and as the automobile replaced the train as the main mode of transportation in the US, the West End's commercial area lost signficsant importance.Recently, there has been a major re-vitalizationinitiative which has brought in significant economic development.** The West End is a Historic District registered with the National Register.** The West End attracts 7 million people a year.** 300 businesses in the West End employ over 40,000 people.
