by exchangeafew

Hey, while in Rome.... I mean Texas, make sure you check out the country music. I dont know if you will be able to learn the Two-Step in one night, but hang out, enjoy the music, have a beer and just watching can be a load of fun. Not to mention that you will not find country music anywhere else like they have here. Another shot of Rodeo, hey you can NEVER have too many rodeo pictures.

by Mighty

Don't think spot. The music scene in Texas is unique and profound. Texans are very musical people. Don't settle for canned music from a DJ when 2 doors down there will be a live band playing original music and there may even be barbeque to be had... Texas music tends to be gituar driven, has cowboy and lating influences and tends to be good for 2 steppin... All bars everywhere close at 2:00 a.m. Bartenders will call you a cab if you need one and sometimes even if you don't think that you do. It is generally best to take there advice in these matters. Everything from super chic to bluejean

Sixth Street, Austin: Sixth Street, Austin

by Don_Wright

Like Ann Arbor, Michigan only much better. Both are university towns. Walking down Sixth Street, every single place is something different and happening. Go in one door and you are hearing a live blues band, go next door a country band, then next door you're eating the most authentic delicious Mexican food you have ever had in your life. And tourists and University students are all over, so you never get lonely. Get the picture?

Billy Bob's: Billy Bob's

The self proclaimed 'World's Largest Honky'Tonk'. It is the largest bar I have ever been in, honky tonk or not. Totally unbelievable. You're in Texas, let's party! Lot's of jeans, and slick urban cowboy/cowpoke/cowgirl, but anything goes.

Sam's Boat: Sam's Boat

Great for people watching. You see all walks of life at this place. It's outside and a lot fun. Always packed on Sundays. From Swimsuits to jeans to pajama bottoms, it doesn't really matter. It's so laid back.

by LAOWAI

I wouldn't venture outside at night outside of the big cities. Just kidding. Actually, even though baseball is pretty boring, it's extremely miserable to go to a game in Texas during the day, so catch one at night. It's a nice, generally cheap way to pass an evening. This is the EX Enron field, now the badly named Minute Maid Field. We were hoping for something more Texan like Dead Armadillo Field. It's in Houston.
