Oak Cliff Things to Do
These murals were actually painted by some high schoolers in the area!
Walk around and see if you can locate these and if you find more, take a picture and post them!
Oak Cliff Shopping
Did not have time to investigate these shops. There are alot of artists buying home in this part of Oak Cliff and once a year in June or July they have an open house weekend and you can buy directly from the artist!
What to buy: Paintings, Ceramics, Glass, Materials, Jewlery, etc.
This store sells everything, from hand made furtiure to glassware and toys. Much of the art he sells is by local artists.
What to buy: If you are a visitor and impressed with what has been done in the area, what about buying a painting by a local artist?Related to:

Oak Cliff Warnings and Dangers
My son was born here when he lived with his mother in '71-'05. These were the WORST years for this neighborhood. Since then it has gotten better, but not enough. It is still the 2nd worst area in Dallas. The neighborhood is overrun with gangs and drugs. My son almost joined a gang at 6! Stemmons elementary turns out young gangsters, New Vision Christian Academy gets them worse, then Molina High School makes them the worst. I have seen pre-teens walk down the streets smoking in public, with no regards for the small children and the eldery people that are watching. Their park is the most dangerous area of the neighborhood. It is in Southside of the neighborhood. They divide the regions of the neighborhood by "Far Side (West)", "Souf Side (South)", "Nawf Side (North)", "Cent Side (Central)", and the "Other Side (Far West)". There's a gang on every block. Buildings have new graffitti on them daily. Bullet holes are in the stores, and people fight in public. In the bowels of Oak Cliff. Luckily, I moved my son out before it was too late.
