There are several asian grocery stores I know about around Plano/ Dallas. Being a newbie in Plano, I've only been to a few around, the other ones I've been to are Asia World, Mei Hua at & Hong Kong Market in Dallas.
I cook mostly Malaysian food and I can get most of the condiments/ ingredients I need from either store.
Mei Hua -
Address: 2220 Coit Rd. #200D
A lot smaller than HKM & AW
Dim lighting
Prices - comparable among the rest
Freshness - I personally think that the parishables, meat & seafood don't seem as fresh as the other stores mentioned
Lemongrass, a bundle of 3-4 stalks depending on the size/ weight is $0.79
Customer service, so far.... all stores are ok....
Hong Kong Market:
http://www.hkmkt.com/location.html
Wide selection of asian groceries here, even cookingware.
An average price for a chinese rice bowl is say, $2
Pandan leaves (frozen) per pack of maybe 20 stalks is $0.99
Wide variety of Vietnamese goods
You can get a lotta asian stuff here, seriously. Haha!
What's around the plaza? So many Vietnamese restaurants/ cafe.
Asia World:

Variety and freshness, I'd say good.
There's a Taiwanese bakery that also sells crepe next to the store. Apparently, this whole plaza is Chinatown.
You can find other stores like asian restaurants, a cafe called Bobo Latte which offers free Wi-fi, hairdressing salon around the plaza.
I've only managed to take piccies of Asia World and the plaza. Have a look see.

Hello, I'm Ling, from Kuala Lumpur. That's the capital city of Malaysia. I like the stuff they sell in World Market - they remind me of home and my previous trips to the neighboring countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Australia, etc.
Look at the pictures I posted. They've got furniture, knick knacks, shawls, wine and other imported food and beverages from almost all over the world. From around Asia that is. Dichu see that? That.... MARMITE.... they have Marmite here in Plano. Seriously, WHOA. Price, double WHOA. Marmite amongst the furniture, draperies, home decor... is it weird or is it a hidden gem? Did I mention they have Tim Tams & Lee Kum Kee products too?

Opposite: St. Mark Catholic Church/ Payless Shoe
Business hours: Sun 11am-7pm, Mon-Sat 9am-9pm

I stumbled across Amigos Imports after having lunch in the same area. I was looking for something small which was Mexican. I had seen a neighbours Ceramic Gecko which she had on her fence and decided to try and find one for myself. All I knew of in the Dallas area was Farmers market which is a little pricy because of its location. This place seemed to be very reasonable and I found my little gecko as well as another similar coloured item I liked and I bought both. Other than the usual colourful Mexican bowls, dishes, wall hangings etc are also the big sturdy patio style pottery.

This is a great store. Its large and has goods from all over the world. Great if you are fed up with Americana and Texas Cowboy stuff. The goods come from remote villages, centuries-old factories and foreign bazaars and so are quite unique. There are baskets from Bali, pottery from Portugal, China from Japan, chocolates from Belgium, furniture from China, silver from India and a good selection of wine both local and imported. Its all reasonably priced.

This is a large Mall located between the intersection of West Plano Parkway and West 15th Street just off U.S. Hwy. 75. Everything is indoor and there are around 160 specialty stores including the major ones like Foley's, Dillard's, Sears, Mervyn's and JC Penney.

Just further down the road from Central Expressway there is a shopping centre which has a large Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Service Merchandise and other large stores. There are several restaurants around the carpark area as well. I think this is called Plano II.

There are just the most wonderful little shops up and down 15th street in old downtown Plano. Lots of antique, knicknack stores with unique ornaments and decorations especially for Christmas but many other things too numerous to mention. In some of the small stores there are tea rooms and the smell of freshly baked goods fills the air as you walk in the door.
There are galleries and furniture stores and really you can just spend loads of time just wandering in and out of each little shop. There are some great baby and toddler stores as well including one which has like a hospital nursery set up with very life-like little baby dolls to peer at through a window.

Vintage Rose sells Victorian knick knacks. Not sure if the puppy is Victorian though.
I was fooled, thought it was real. Yea, they sell those Victorian pups and kitties.
Any takers?
