Can be loud and noisy but always fun. The food is priced right and taste is good, portions excellent. Find this restaurant mentioned on Dakota Rogers' web site in her design pattern: Aransas!
Favorite Dish: Anything accompanied by low priced Margaritas!
San Juan restaurant was recommended to us from the Park Ranger and I'm glad he told us about it. The food is excellent and they even gave us a free appetizer of nachos. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
Favorite Dish: Fajitas with chicken and shrimp
One of the few restaurants open during the off-season, Taqueria San Juan was not only open early on a Sunday morning, but surprisingly busy as well! It is by no means a fine dining experience, but still a nice place to go for some good Mexican food at great prices.
We went to San Juan for breakfast, there was one waitress covering our entire section and she was GREAT! The service was fast and efficient, and the migas were very authentic "Jalisco". The best tip that this is a good, local place was the full parking lot.
Favorite Dish: Migas for breakfast.
This is a rare local pizza restaurant with a customized cozy pirate appeal. The pizza is so good you have to taste it for yourself. We couldn't believe the ravings about this place so we just had to do it for ourselves and I have to say the pizza was better than any I've tasted. The only experience better than the pizza was the people. Kip the owner and his staff were genuinely friendly and warm. The Gaff has a long list of local friends who treat everyone as though they know them and fun is had by all. The added rare factor is The Gaff puts on a "Belt Sander" race periodically and the race has become a huge event. A must see, there are laughs for all in this rare cozy restaurant. Tops my list on restaurants on the entire island.
The dining room is on the 6th floor and it has great views of the town and the strait.
There is a buffet Friday and Sat. nights.
When we were there they were busy with Xmas parties.
The service was good but the food was not as good as I expected. They had several dishes but most had meat in them.
I think it was a bit overpriced.
Food and service is good
Favorite Dish: The shrimp and garlic mashed potato were great and the stack of pancakes for breakfast are worth going in and the friendly staff and owner.
Great food ..
cheaper than the Pelican's Landing
All open air .. but 2 story and a view of the marina .. and the bay .. it was great
