Gabriella's Ristorante Italiano: Real Italian Food from a Real Italian Family

    by Stephen-KarenConn Updated Jun 16, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Gabriella's Ristorante Italiano

Gabriella's Ristorante Italiano in a spacious new facility with a replica of the Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus' flagship of discovery, decorating the front. It is owned and operated by a family of Italian immigrants who obviously take pride in their facilities, their service, and their old world family recipes.

Favorite Dish: After several days at the beach we were growing a little weary of seafood, as much as we like it, and decided to go out for pizza. Gabriella's Restorante Italiano was a fantastic choice. We gorged ourselves on some of the best pizza we've ever had anywhere - definitely better than chain restaurant fare.

Marcello's Italian Restaurant & Pub: Italian At The Beach

by TexasDave Updated Feb 21, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A cozy ambience, easy to find next to the lighthouse.
To the right as you enter there is also a bar, which is separate from the dining room.

Favorite Dish: At lunchtime (until 4:00 pm) they offer all-you-can-eat fried fish fillets as well as all-you-can-eat pizza for $6.95. We generally order at least one of each and share. You can get cheese, peperoni, or supreme pizza. The only drawback is that it is not a buffet, you have to ask for another portion, and sometimes it can take a whle to get the next plate of pizza.
They have early evening specials, and all their Italian plates are very good.

This restaurant sits on the edge of the water in the marina area. They have inside and outside dining areas. I've tried it at other restaurants in Port Isabel, but to me it is the best here.

Favorite Dish: Fried seafood in general, but the All-You-Can-Eat fried fish ($6.95) is what I order every time!

Pirate's Landing: Seafood with a View

    by Stephen-KarenConn Updated Jun 16, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Pirate's Landing Restaurant

This is a family style restaurant in a choice location, built to resemble an old fort. It opens daily at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner. We had lunch here while enjoying a magnificent view of the Laguna Madre with the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway and South Padre Island as a backdrop. The food and service were both good.

As an added bonus, after eating here we were allowed to take a free stroll on the adjoining fishing pier - the longest in Texas.

Favorite Dish: We had the Fish Po' Boy sandwich: Fresh grouper, fried and served on a homemade roll with tarter sauce and waffle fries, for $6.95. Yum, yum!

    Pirate's Landing: Pirate's Seafood Bounty!

by rsleisk Written May 4, 2005

We eat at the Pirate's Landing restaurant in Port Isabel everytime we go to South Padre Island and the food is always good. The restaurant has a Pirate Ship theme, which is good for the kiddos. There is a ship's wheel they can play with pretending to steer the ship which keeps them occupied while you wait for a table.

The food is great and you can take a stroll on the pier afterwards.
Just beware of the tourist tax on your bill!

Favorite Dish: Anything is good, always fresh seafood. I liked the grilled Salmon.
