Clay Pit: Tasty Curry, good atmosphere

by Fid

I was in Austin for a couple of days so I decided to grab some ethnic food. I searched the net and found the Clay Pit. I walked a mile in the 100 degree heat and found the restaurant easily. It doesn't look like much on the outside but has a nice relaxed rustic but modern interior. A little too loud for a quiet date night but good ambiance nonetheless. I had the Jeera Saang with Lamb. Jeera Sang is according to their menu "Pureed spinach cooked with roasted cumin & spices. An Indian classic." I ordered it the hottest that they made it. After about a ten minute wait it arrived with the nan I ordered. It was delicious but not quite as spicy as I like (I like it really really spicy so it will probably be perfect for normal people) and there was just too much of it. The portion was too large for me. It was served with a very tasty and perfectly cooked basmati rice. I was very pleased with...

Don Pablo's: Great Tex-Mex

by VeronicaG

As we travel around Texas, I've noticed Don Pablo's restaurants but had never tried any of their meals. On a recent weekend we had that opportunity. Not only was the food great, the decor was colorful! (See pic #2)Before our order was even taken, a basket of nachos and salsa were promptly delivered to our table. For dinner, I ordered Chicken Chimichunga on a corn tortilla with rice and topped with Ranchero sauce ($9.49). It was delicious! My husband ordered a beef fajita, which he proclaimed "tasty"!Each week there seems to be a discount coupon in the newspaper--$5 off a $15 order or other discounts on the entree.Don Pablo restaurants in Texas are located in Arlington, Bedford, Ft. Worth, Grand Prairie, Irving, Lewisville, Mesquite and North Richland Hills and Grapevine. The chicken chimichunga was very good!

Mi Cocina: Quite Possibly Best Mexican Food in Dallas

by ChristinaGH

Mi Cocina is a superb mexican restaurant, one of my favorites in Dallas. Lively, fun, great margaritas. No real surprises, typical tex-mex. Does not take reservations though... and on Friday, Saturday it's packed. I've never had anything I didn't like

8.0 Bar & Restaurant: A great spot in the middle of Sundance Square

by Dutchnatasja

8.0 has a great location at Sundance Square. They have a street corner patio during summer months. It’s great to spend time here with your friends and live music at the (outdoor) stage. Last time it was half November and it was a beautiful warm evening. Too bad the band performed inside, while the weather outside was perfect. We had no dinner, only drinks. We came because we heard the band play and we decided to grab a beer. The interior is nice with some (local) art on the walls and even some couches to chill. The atmosphere is casual. It was a bit quiet inside, not many people. Not good for the band and not good for the bar. Maybe because it was a weekday and not a Friday or Saturday. After a few songs and some tasteful beers we left to our hotel. Hours:Monday – Wednesday: 11pm – midnightThursday – Friday : 11 am – 2amSaturday – Sunday: also till 2am

P.F. Chang's Chinese Bistro: Great Chinese food!

by Dutchnatasja

P.F. Chang’s is my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth. This restaurant offers Chinese cuisine in a nice atmosphere. You can choose to dine inside or outside. The terrace is not very big, but if you can get a table than you’re lucky. You can always wait for a table outside or just choose for dinner inside. I had dinner twice at P.F. Chang’s. The first time we had a table inside and the second time we had dinner outside. The menu features traditional Chinese meals. I had for example the SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN, stir-fried with pineapple, bell peppers and onions in a sweet sour sauce. My partner had the ORANGE PEEL BEEF, tossed with chili peppers and fresh orange peel. Both entrees were delicious. It comes with white or brown rice which you can mix with the very tasty table sauces. If you are with more persons, you can order several entrees, put them all in the middle of the table so you can...

Thai Jasmine: Vegeterian Thai Buffet

Thai Chili: Fresh and healthy food

by kyoub

This restaurant was a very good choice by a VT member. She picked Thai Chile as the place that we would meet for dinner. It was on the main street of Southlake. A very cozy atmosphere. Service was good just a bit slow but we were in no hurry Everyone had soup that they enjoyed. For the main meal I had tofu with fresh veggies.Hubby had drunken noodles with beef.

Curra's Grill: Avocado Margaritas!

by kalixp

Great, fresh, mexican food. Very good chips and salsa. Excellent margaritas. i had CARNITAS(pork marinated in Coca-Cola, milk, OJ, then fried) and my sister had a vegetarian dish (many options for vegetarians). they were two of the best dishes i've ever had. Avocado margaritas. Sounds strange but they are delicious, more like a smoothie than a creamy milkshake type thing (you'd think you'd get from an avocado).

Sand's Restaurant: Decent Food/Good Variety in Van Horn

by Basaic

The Sand's Restaurant is located on the main street of Van Horn near I-10. It offered a variety of food ranging from steak to chicken to Mexican. I ordered an enchilada platter. It was pretty good. The decor was simple; but I liked the family photos displayed throughout the place. The staff was efficient enough and fairly friendly. Most of the clientele however, seems to be locals. They have a buffet in addition to menu order and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sorry, no picture. I enjoyed my enchilada platter, especiallt the beef enchilada. A friend of mine ate here before and said the breakfast is good too.

Whataburger: Delicious Texas-style Burgers!

by H-TownJourneyman

For over 50 years, Whataburger restaurants have been filling Texan's bellies with mouth-watering hamburgers. The chain of fast-food restaurants, which now has locations all over the country, opened its first burger joint in Corpus Christi in 1950. Since then, millions of people, including myself on many occasions, have arrived at the unique orange & white roofed buildings for some of the best-tasting fast food around. I don't know what it is about the smell of Whataburger food, but there is something very distinctive, and easily recognizable to it when you catch a wiff. There burgers here, which are of course what they are known for, are very tasty. But for me, it is some of the other items on their menu that have drawn me here for years. The french fries and onion rings that Whataburger makes are like no other, and the breakfast burritos here, with egg, cheese, and potatoes, are...
