Lone Star Oyster Bar

Lone Star Oyster Bar, Rockwall

Bella Italian Ristorante

Bella Italian Ristorante, Rockwall

keeweechic Says:  Bella Italian Ristorante is a 'small town feel' restaurant – cosy and maybe a little outdated in its décor for such a thriving community. There is booth seating as well as tables with plastic print tablecloths and vases of plastic flowers. The usual fake windows on one wall...

Luigi's Italian Cafe

Luigi's Italian Cafe, Rockwall

keeweechic Says:  Luigi's is a very popular and very good Italian restaurant just off the freeway in Rockwall. Run by two brothers from Northern Italy who sure know how to cook. It is very much a family affair with nephew and cousins all helping out. Plenty of staff, good service, an...

The Oar House

The Oar House, Rockwall

keeweechic Says:  This is a great Seafood/Italian restaurant more in Rockwall than Rowlett. There is a 25 foot rosewood bar, which originates from the Palace Hotel in London, inside the door for just having a quiet drink or two sections of restaurant (smoking and nonsmoking which looks out to...

Lake Ray Hubbard is a very popular recreation lake in Texas with boating and swimming activities, unfortunately drownings occur all too frequently as shown by the memorial on the edge of the lake here.

I'm not sure this would be a tourist trap but the cuteness would probably tempt a look and in the Texas heat, the ice would sure be a welcomed treat. You have to admit, its cute.

Rowlett

Rowlett, Rockwall

Fate

Fate, Rockwall

keeweechic Says:  Just a few miles east of Rockwall is the tiny town of Fate. With just 497 residents, not a lot happens there. There is one popular restaurant which I saw but mainly the name of the town intrigued me to go and drive around it. It lies almost halfway between Rockwall and...

Favorite thing: Rockwall is a fast growing city with Lake Ray Hubbard being a big draw card. There is plenty of shops and restaurants and the city maintains one of the lowest tax rates in Texas. Rockwall apparently has become known as a marriage mecca, because of the ease with which a marriage license can be obtained there.
