Welcome to Mimis

Just a really nice place to eat. Its relatively new as well. The interior decor is a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme, very well done.

Click the photo to see an interior picture and also see what I had for lunch!

This one is in Round Rock, TX but there are Mimis in many locations around the country.

Favorite Dish: I had an albacore tuna/avacado sandwich with potato soup and a fresh pineapple slice. delicious. They must have sliced an avacado and put the entire thing into my sandwich. It was generous and wonderful. This large and very filling sandwich was $9.49 and also included cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was served on sourdough toast.

Their Corn Chowder soup comes highly recommended as well. It is $4.99.

I suggest trying their muffins also.

Round Rock Donuts: Named "Best of Texas"

In late 2011, "Texas Monthly" magazine named Round Rock Donuts the "Best Donuts in Texas." That's a lot of donuts! So of course I had to try it out.

Round Rock is along I-35 at the north edge of Austin.

Although it is a large building, there is no seating inside, and only 3 or 4 tables outside. Most of the business is take-away.

Favorite Dish: Applesauce cake donuts (59 cents) and Cherry-filled Bismarks (79 cents). (prices as of January 2012)

But I have had other kinds and all were very, very good.

Little Red Wagon: Best Burgers in Texas

No, it's not Whataburger. I take nothing from Whataburger by saying that Little Red Wagon is better. Whataburger is great for a chain burger place but Little Red Wagon is family owned and the burgers are hand made one at a time. This is one of thise places where they expect you to ask for a custom burger.

They have terriffic chili cheese fires and some of the best hand made and hand dipped onion rings ever. They have iced tea in a big tub and best of all they play classic country music on the juke box. Imagine sitting down with a big double meat burger, onion rings, coke, and listening to Hank Williams Sr. sing "Hey Good Lookin, whatcha got cookin? How about cooking sumpin up with me?"

Favorite Dish: Double meat burger, no mayo, no chees, lots of pickle and mustard.

Rudy's "Country Store" & BBQ: Worst BBQ in Texas - NOTTTTT

No frills BBQ restaurant. Food's served on parchment paper with plastic utensils. Do not be turned off by this though, the food is tasty and price is very reasonable. The BBQ sauce is not thick and the taste is not overpowering like most I've had before. New outlets opening soon at several places in Texas, including Frisco at Dallas Parkway. YAYYYYYY!

Side dishes & desserts on the menu at this outlet:
Cole Slaw
Cream Corn
Chocolate Pudding
Potato Salad

Favorite Dish: I had half pound of Moist Beef Brisket and Sausage Link... with a soda, total came up to about $10. You're served with a few slices of white bread.

Maggie Moo's Austin

Well, in the tradition of Marble Slab or Cold Stone Creamery, Maggie Moo's is a build your own ice cream type of location. You can pick your flavor of ice cream, add in your favorite Mix-In, and have a delicious treat made especially for you.

My personal favorite is Better Batter with White Chocolate Chips!

La Margarita: Great Tex-Mex in Round Rock

La Margarita - Round Rock

One of the original restaurants in Round Rock has been given a new facelift recently to bring you one of the nicest restaurant locations now!

La Margarita is a happening place, so patrons should be prepared to wait 30 minutes on weekdays and an hour or more on the weekends. There's a large bar area and three separate dining rooms decorated with rustic wood floors, Mexican tile and shiny copper-topped tables. Leaded glass lamps and intricate iron chandeliers light up the space.

Lucky Dog Round Rock

If you are looking to have a good representation of a Chicago Style Hot Dog, than you are in the right place if you head to Lucky Dog. Both of the owners are normally in the shop slinging dogs, and they are Chicago originals!

I would recommend the Chicago style dog... all the way!

Also, if you are a member of Idine.com, they accept it here.
