San Antonio celebrates Cinco de Mayo (The 5th of May) in a big way. Cinco de Mayo is the day the Mexican army defeated the French army at The Battle of Puebla in May 5th, 1862.

Mexico does not recognize Cinco de Mayo as a national holiday (the city of Puebla does celebrate the holiday from what I gather). Anyway, Texas (esp. San Antonio) does celebrate the day as a holiday.
