Luggage and bags: The riverwalk is not luggage friendly! So do not bring your luggage and bags and go for a walk on it.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Prepare for hot and cold/cool weather in the Spring and Fall. Even in Feburary the temperature can be in the mid-high 70s but crash at night into the 30s or 40s. So pack layers.

Guide to San Antonio's historic district

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: San Antonio can be boiling hot in the summer, so dress accordingly. Hats are the best defense again the sun--also be sure to use your sunblock.

In the winter, the wind can get gusty and weather cold, so my recommendation is to dress in layers. The mornings will be cool, the afternoon warming and getting cool again as night falls.

Miscellaneous: This map will guide you on a walking tour of the various districts of San Antonio. If staying along the River Walk, La Villita is easy to find.

Always Pack Something for the Summer

Luggage and bags: Any normal luggage will do.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you come in the summer, bring lots of walking shorts and short-sleeve shirts. Dress is very casual in San Antonio, and only in the nicest restaurants do you need to wear slacks or more formal attire. You'll also want to bring a swimsuit either to take in the sun's rays at the hotel park or in one of the cities several theme parks.

If you come in the winter, bring a mix of clothes. February tends to be the coldest month, but the temperature can vary greatly. It can be below freezing or it can be hot. I've been in San Antonio for Christmas where I've had to wear shorts is was so hot. Hard freezes happen about a few days every year, and snow is extremely rare.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Whatever you don't bring, you can easily find.

Photo Equipment: Definitely bring your camera.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you're a serious golfer, bring your clubs.

Luggage and bags: Casual and dressy casual will get you into most places in San Antonio. Even at The Fig Tree a tie was not required. Be sure you have comfortable walking shoes! Don’t forget your sunglasses and a hat to shade your face.

Many shops

Luggage and bags: Bring an empty piece of luggage with you because you will need it to take everything back home with you, that you bought here.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Everything else you can buy after you arrive.
There are so many malls, you can shop until you drop.

Photo Equipment: You will want to take a lot of pictures so don't forget to bring your camera.

Miscellaneous: Don't forget to use the sunscreen that you brought or bought.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring some pants and long-sleeved shirts for the evenings...it can cool off quite a bit. Also, during the months of Feb-April, it can get pretty chilly too at times with rainy weather. Bring a light jacket.

Miscellaneous: Bring sunscreen!! Other than the few cooler months in spring, it is quite warm, especially late summer. Wear sunscreen to prevent burning.

Luggage and bags: Since your clothes will be light, just a small bag...with a large one for all your shoes, if you're a shoe freak like me!!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: San Antonio is burning hot in the summer, so bring shorts, tanks (T's), & tons of sunblock! Oh, and drink plenty of water!!
The winters are pretty mild, nothing a nice sweater can't handle! Rarely you may need a jacket if it freezes.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: As I said before, sunblock!! And soap.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Shorts, and more shorts. It is HOT here!
Flat shoes would be good for walking along the Riverwalk.
Don't forget wide brim hats and sunglasses :) Even dogs need them.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Whatever meds you prefer to help recover from partying hearty!

Photo Equipment: You might want a tripod for night photos along the Riverwalk, especially at Christmas when the trees are full of colored lights.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: DON'T stay in the *great outdoors* if it is anytime from June thru September, unless you are floating in a river or in a pool.
