The River Center Mall is a very clean and lovely shopping spot. Haven't buy anything at their shops yet, but two cup cakes with lemon cream as topping. Holy cow that stuff did taste heavenly-wonderful. Great American Cookie Company says: "We proudly serve you the world's most delicious cookie!" And sure they do! When I made it to the River Center Mall, its floors were bathing in cup cakes' scent, like it was a place of nothing but big fluffy clouds. I just followed the scent.. and found that little bakery booth on the mall's ground floor. Great American Cookie Company is selling brownies, cookie tins, cup cakes, and heart shaped cookie cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, graduations, holidays, school and sports, parties and gifts, and other special occasions. It sells its products through its stores. The company was founded in 1977 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

River Center Mall is so famous for its tie to the River Walk. It's a great place to visit and get souvenirs. You can also get anything else. It is connected to a few of the hotels as well as a movie theatre with an IMAX theatre included. It has its own ambience. Each day there is a Peruvian Mountain group that comes and plays along the river. You can also see pictures in my Dining entry of Chili's on the River Walk.

We went in December for the luminaries and lights and got a bunch of Christmas shopping done. All normal mall stores are there as well as the food court.

What to buy: Buy things you would normally buy at a mall: clothing, electronics, games, etc. You can also get some souvenirs here as well.

What to pay: Normal prices....

River Center: The Mall--Lots of Shopping Here!

Rivercenter seen from the River Walk

River Center is a huge shopping mall containing all your favorite shops! The IMAX theatre is located here, so we strolled through the corridors but didn't have time to shop.

If you do make time for some shopping, you'll find just about anything here. Shops like Aeropostale, Chicos, The Disney Store, Gap, Express, Zales, Foot Locker, American Eagle Outfitters, Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop, Best of San Antonio, Sports Mania, Victoria's Secret, The Body Shop, Sunglass Hut, American Greetings are only a few of the 125 stores.

There is a food court with Starbucks, Dairy Queen, Le Petit Bistro, Great Wraps, Sbarro's Italian Eatery, Philly Grill, Marble Slab Creamery, Nestle Toll House Cafe, Little Tokyo and many, many more. Restaurants are Chili's, Hooters, Luciano's Ristorante Italiano, Morton's-The Steakhouse, Steers and Beers and Tony Roma's Ribs. Bank machines are placed in several areas of the mall, as well as restrooms.

What to buy: You name it!

This has to be one of the most interesting shopping malls I have seen and its all do to the fact is the riverboat tours or taxi will bring right to the main entrance. Once inside they have a very open entrance floor and I assume its because of the many events they may have take place here. Its a really nice clean mall and has lots to choose from as far as selection. So venture around and has different floors too.

Oh the Marriott Hotel is connected to the mall and offers a variety of packages,

River Center Mall: San Antonio Shopping for all Senses
NeeNaVal profile photo

Typical mall shopping in a unique atmosphere. And the variety of the food court is enhanced by outdoor seating, where visitors can listen to music, and watch the tourists pass by on river boats. At some times of the year, musicians travel by boat from River Center mall to the various restaurants along the loop.

On the top floor of the mall, an Imax theater shows a wonderful movie of the Alamo, as well as other Imax features that change out on a regular basis.

The Bridge Market at River Center, San Antonio, TX

If you feel like shopping or if you are looking for an air-conditioned place to get away from the heat, River Center is a pretty good option. It is located right by the Riverwalk so it is very easy to find, and there's a good mix of regular stores and specialty/souvenir shops. River boat tours also start from this shopping center.

The Rivercenter Mall has around some 130 shops, stores, and restaurants on its three leves. There is also a multiplex cinema, a comedy club, and an IMAX theatre, which features the film "Alamo...The Price of Freedom" on a six-story-high screen. On the river side, where the tour boats make their turns, you can hear and see mariachi music being played.

San Antonio's beautiful River Center
3 more images

Not just another boring suburban shopping mall (although San Antonio has those, too), the River Center is a beautiful, mutli-story shopping center right on the river walk.

What to buy: You can find anything that a typical suburban mall has.

What to pay: Prices are about average.
