The Enchanted Springs Ranch brochure said "Voted Best Attraction Of The Year-2005", so with that in mind we drove the twenty five minutes to experience a little bit of the Old West. We had expected a restored Western town, but instead found a replica.
Our grandson didn't mind in the least, he really enjoyed taking time out to see this 86 acre working ranch. Once you pay admission, a "cowboy" guide takes you through the town. It was explained to us that Enchanted Spring Ranch was used every so often for commercials or movies.
The town looked much like a movie set. A street complete with a saloon, jail, gallows, post office, general store, post office and other buildings were created to give visitors a taste of the Old West. After a short movie showing stunt actors doing their stuff here at the ranch, we were taken for a wagon ride around the pasture.
One of the ranch dogs, Biscuit, rode along with us as we plodded through the gate, over the bumpy road and into the pasture where we passed horses, buffalo, zebra, antelope, long steers, llamas and donkeys.
Our grandson tried ropin' a little dogey from horseback. Admission was $10 for adults; $5 kids. Hours are Tues-Sun.10 am-5pm
