42 beers on tap and 20 in bottles are available at the Tap Room. There are excellent specials almost every day; discounted beers, half price appetizers every night and more. The burgers are the best I have found in the Central Texas area.

GORDO'S:
The larger acts (Cory Morrow...Vallejo..etc) play at Gordos. You can get a decent meal there too. Fred the cook rocks.
CHEATHAM STREET WAREHOUSE:
This is where I would have spent my childhood if I could have. The best Hill Country Musicians play here weekly.

It's on the Square..and it's got good cold beer, NTN Trivia and Darts. Sports is on the TVs that doesn't have the trivia game on. As the evening progresses it gets more and more crowded..so if you're looking for a quiet evening you'll have to find somewhere else after 10:30p.m.

What a great place. It's a little bit out of town..has good beer specials...darts...and I once lost $20 in a 'bet you wont dance on this bar' contest.

CATS Billiards (143 S. LBJ)
It's not the nicest place in the world...and it's not the most friendly place in the world....and I wouldn't take my kid there...but it's a cool place to play some pool and have some fun. They have tables to rent by the hour and coin operated ones.

The Square is the area surrounding the county Courthouse in San Marcos. There is a handful of bars one just like the other. Most offer live music on the weekends. My favorites are Draft Choice(a sports bar), Gordo's(a venue for great local live music) and the Tap Room (offering a wide selection of beers on tap, ofcourse). But beware, the bars shut-down at midnight in this little town.
Dress Code: Dress is casual for the most part during the week but on the weekend most bar-hoppers dress up.
