As in all these small towns, the main square is the heart where various activities during the year are held. This part of the city is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and features a quaint marketplace. Formerly these shops were grocery, clothing stores, doctors office and bank buildings.
Visit the earthquake formed cave at Wonder World.
Though Wonder World is just blocks from my house, I have never visited but it seems to be a very interesting place. The have a 110 foot observation tower and train ride into a wildlife petting zoo. I can, unfortunately, hear the wildlife from my backyard
San Marcos is a student town and is the place to go for pool parties. Have a swim, shoot some hoops, sink some beer, before getting into the hot tub with the chicks.
The present church has been completed in 1928. By chance, I passed there on a sunday morning, at mass time, it was amazing to see this huge parking in front of the church completely full!!
This is the fist church in Hays County. Built in 1893, the actual building is indeed the third one erected on this site.
This is a good example of Gothic Revival style.
These two little pals were inseperable even when it came to fetching the stick in the river... they were having such a great time retrieving the stick over and over again for their owners.
Go shopping at the outlet malls just outside of town. It's the largest outlet mall in the state!
