The shops at Stockyards Station: Western clothes and souvenirs

by Dutchnatasja

The shops are located in the old Stockyard pens. About 25 shops are selling jewelry, souvenirs, candy, ice cream, clothing, boots, hats or other Western gear. It’s not my kind of stuff, but it was fun to see what they were selling. But if you like typical western clothes and souvenirs you’re at the right place. For those who doesn’t want to shop, they placed benches outside the shops. Ideal place to sit for a little while. At least in the spring and autumn. I think that it is too warm in the summer and to dusty. Halfway the station you’ll find the restrooms. The shops and the station had Halloween decoration everywhere. Although the shop are wheelchair friendly, the cobblestones are not. The path of cobblestones is not very comfortable when you are in a wheelchair. It’s very bumpy. Don’t look up if you come out of a store and a train is passing by. Once a day a train is running through...

Stonebriar Mall: Big Mall

by Astrobuck

This mall is pretty huge! I Don't think it is the largest I have ever been in, but it's still big! In any case, there are many shops here including Texas Treasures (Where you can buy anything Texas related), and a Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop. The food court is also big, and the people who work there stand out in front of the restaurants and hand out samples in order to compete with one another!

Boot amd Hat Wearhouses and Discount stores: Grab A Cowboy Hat and A Pair of Boots

by jayshell00

Texas is known for its leather crafts, boots and hats. Check out these items while in Texas because I haven't seen a larger selection anywhere else. Not to mention there are dealers everywhere that are dying to give you a good deal. Look for those signs Three pairs of Boots for $99, check clearance racks and don't be afraid to ask locals . If you see someone wearing something you like don't be shy ask where they got it. I gave $15 dollars for my red cowgirl hat at a Stuckys on I-10 and found my husbands $300 dollar boots on Sale for $60 in a outlet mall on I-35 near Austin. If you are gonna visit Texas you simply must get yourself a Cowboy Hat and Boots. And if you are feeling froggy get the Huge belt buckle and the handmade belt. I also recommend picking up a western shirt and a good pair of jeans. I wear mine to festivals and date nights at honky tonks all over the US. I can't...

Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop: Cowboys Gear

Everything you can think of pertaining to the Dallas Cowboys, it's here. You name it, they have it. If you are a Dallas Cowboys fan (i like them, but they aren't my favorite), you can pretty much deck your whole house with what is here. If they don't have it, they can either get it or point you to someone who can find it for you. You name it. A little higher than average, of course it is the Cowboys...

Grapevine Mills

by keeweechic

This Mall is huge!!!.. there is over 2 million square feet of shopping and dining under one roof and it is reportedly the largest shopping mall in the southwest.. I could certainly believe that when I saw it.There are outlet stores for Saks 5th Avenue, Dockers, Ann Taylor, Liz Claiborne, Gap, Bugle Boy, Brooks Brothers as well as JC Penny and Nieman Marcus just to name a few . The prices are really very good.Other than the large Department Stores there is also a great variety of very different individual stores which also seem to have good values. The Mall is very colourful inside and out. You really need to be prepared to spend several hours there and have plenty of money to spend because there are some great temptations.

San Antonio

by keeweechic

El Mercado (Market Square). This is a great market area with lots of Mexican atmosphere. Some really good restaurants as well as loads of colourful stores selling souvenirs, typical Mexican wares and clothing. Something for everyone. There is a really lovely upmarket 3 level store, Los Pueblitos, which had some very nice wares indeed.Quarry MarketQuarry Market is a huge shopping area just to the north of the city and is San Antonio's newest and hottest shopping centre. (700 N. St. Mary's, San Antonio). The Rivercenter MallThe Mall has around some 130 shops, stores, and restaurants on its three levels. There is also a multiplex cinema, a comedy club, and an IMAX theatre, which features the film "Alamo...The Price of Freedom" on a six-story-high screen. On the river side, where the tour boats make their turns, you can hear and see mariachi music being played.
