The Tanger Outlet Stores: Terrell and San Marcos

by keeweechic

There are two Tanger Outlet Centres in Texas – Terrell in East Texas and in San Marcos, the hill country. These are large complexes full of designer and specialist type stores all at around 20-70% less than normal retail. The one at San Marcos has around 150 stores and I believe is the biggest – it certainly looked the biggest. Both are on the main freeways in their respective areas.San Marcos - 4015 Interstate 35 South, San Marcos and Terrell - 301 Tanger Drive, Terrell TX 75160.

Allen Premium Outlets: Allen

by keeweechic

This large outlet mall is just 5 miles south of McKinney. The shops here are upscale and there are more than 50 stores. Major names such as Polo Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Banana Republic Factory Store, Liz Claiborne, Barneys New York Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Timberland, Reebok, WestPoint Stevens and more. The Dansk store has some very nice china and crystal. There is a Samsonite store and a Wilson leather store also. All stores have between 25 – 65% off the retail price. Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-9pm, Sunday 11am-6pm..

The Galleria Westheimer: Houston

by keeweechic

The Galleria Westheimer has got to be Houston’s best shopping mall or at very least, the most well known. The mall is set beneath large glass atriums and has over 300 shops and restaurants with many designer brands featured. There is an ice skating rink on the bottom which can best be viewed from the upper levels. Be careful of taking photos here – if the security guard sees you he will ask if you have a permit. There are no signs up to tell you that you can’t but fortunately I had my photos already. If you do want to do it legally, you need to go to the managers office and ask for a permit.

Galveston

by keeweechic

The GrandMany of the mansions down this street have been restored and house antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, galleries and pubs. Old Galveston Square There are lots of great shops and galleries in this square. A lovely stairway will take you to the second floor as well as an antique elevator The Strand Soda Fountain is a step back in time.

The Galleria Mall is a huge shopping centre full of some very ‘nice’ stores - all the big names are here. There is an ice rink on the lower ground floor and a five screen Cinema as well. A very dangerous place to go with credit cards..
