Friday nights in the summer there are fireworks over the bay side of the island, Laguna Madre. There are many restaurants you can go to in order to see them if your room is facing the beach. It's also funny to see all the tour boats fighting for a good spot. Leave a Comment Theme: Family SpotDirections: Laguna Madre

If you have ever stayed up late and watched those horrid infra commercials – especially the ones pertaining to young ladies dancing in night clubs (for which I know nothing about) – then you more than likely possess the knowledge that, despite being billed as a family destination, South Padre Island has one roaring nightlife scene, though I believe the worse of it occurs during the Spring Break vacation season in the U.S. During our stay on South Padre Island, my wife and I did not run into any obscenities, drunken misfits, or any other kind of offensive behavior – then again we weren’t looking for that, neither. After spending a long and tedious day out in the sun, my wife allowed me to obtain a glass of Guinness, from a nearby bar and grille, called Dorado’s. The place appeared to be rather popular, but with an older crowd. Every person sitting down at the bar seemed to be from the northeast; there was a couple from Philly, Fishtown, who made the trip to South Padre Island annually; there was another gentleman from Baltimore, who, like me, was experiencing the island for the very first time; and then there was a gentleman from Trenton, New Jersey.
Everyone appeared to be well-dressed; not one single person wore any typical beach-type clothing. There were no signs in the establishment which addressed a dress code, but people seemed to have established one on their own accord; with my flip flops, torn white t-shirt, and dirty denim shorts it became quite apparent that I was out of place. When down at the island don't forget to try the red snapper, for all the fish you can eat. Very good food if you like cooked in greese. All the fish you can eat for i belive 5 or 6 bucks. A definite must see.

Being the only club on the island you can imagine the crowd Louie's attracts. It is 21 and up only so if you’re a minor you best find another place to go. They are extremely hard on fake IDs so I wouldn't even try. Once you get in you have to try a cherry bomb!! They come in this bucket w/ a straw and two of those will have you good for the night. The entire club is outside and you can see the ocean from the dance floor.
anything! flip flops, tank top, nothing really fancy... Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: 2305 Laguna BlvdPhone: (956) 761-6406Directions: The west end of the island. Ask anyone where it is and they should know.

This place rocks during SPRING BREAK and summer so everywhere is crowed and has a cover. As a local i loved Wahoo's. It is on the bay and a great place to start a nite and finish. Sit on the deck over the water and have a bucket of fun. at least 22 shots of liquor and juices and straws so you dont need a cup. This place has food too. Seafood and it is fresh. If you want dancing and being young and wild go anywhere there is always people during the hot seasons and it is fun.
