Texas Stadium
Texas Stadium was built in 1971 and it has to be one of the ugliest stadium (externally) I have ever seen. It always looks unfinished to me. The stadium is home to the Dallas Cowboys football team – 5 times world champions. Aside from football games, festivals and concerts are also held here. You can take a tour of the complex all year round. The stadium has a unique hole in the roof, so that in bad weather, spectators can be protected from bad weather.

The lake on the Red River is shared by Texas and Oklahoma and is widely recognised as a top fishing lake and one of the most popular recreation destinations in the Southwest.
To fish the Red River below Denison Dam, requires a state license from the appropriate state. Striper can be found around the dam area in 45-50 feet of water. Activities include power boating, power sailing, personal watercraft, water skiing and wind surfing. Lake Texoma has become a huge sailing centre based on the lake's size, depth and miles of sailing shoreline.

Lake Ray Hubbard is a large 22,745-acre reservoir on the East Fork of the Trinity River which borders 4 counties – Rockwall, Collin, Dallas and Kaufman and is accessible from Rockwall, Mesquite, Garland, Rowlett, and Forney. It is man made and one of the older lakes in the Dallas area and there are about 6 fairly major marinas on the lake.
National Sailboat races and bass fishing tournaments are held annually on the lake.
The lake has an excellent fishery for sand bass, striped bass and hybrid stripers. Largemouth bass fishing has improved in recent years.

Fishing
For a small fee you can fish off 61st Street Pier.
There are plenty of places for Surf Fishermen to throw out their line almost anywhere along the beach. Other free jetties and rock piers are found at Seawall Blvd. at 10th , 17th , 30th and 37th Streets.
The most popular sport fish in the Galveston area is the spotted seatrout which is also known as the speckled trout. Other local fish include Black drum, red drum, flounder, croaker, sheepshead, sand sea trout, gafftopsail catfish, and whiting.
There are lots of surfing spots from 61st Street Pier to the Flagship Hotel.

Astros Field (formerly Enron Field)
In 2002 the Astros bought back the naming rights to the field after the collapse of Enron. The field is home to the Astros baseball team. The first game played here was between the Astros and the New York Yankees. The field has a retractable room for indoor/outdoor playing.

Baseball is one of America's favorite games.. and it fast became one of mine also.
Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to see a live game, but I enjoyed watching it on television.
