Schlotzsky's: Favorite Sandwich
Schlotzsky’s is one of my very favorite places to eat. It’s a sandwich shop that you can take out or eat in the shop with plenty of tables always available. It’s a bit pricier ($6-7 for a sandwich) than most other sandwich shops but definitely worth it.
It's a place where you order at the counter, then wait for your food and pick it up when they call your number. It's very casual and I'm sure you'll love the food!
Hours of operation
Mon-Sat: 10:30am-9:00pm; Sun: 11:00am-4:00pm
Favorite Dish: The highlight is the sandwiches. They make it with thick sourdough bread and very thinly sliced meat. Then they sprinkle cheese (the best is a mixture of cheddar and mozzarella) on one piece of bread and run it through an oven conveyor belt. Therefore the sandwich is warm and very tasty. The Original is their signature sandwich and comes with: “Home of The Original® Sandwich. Lean smoked ham, Genoa and cotto salamis, and melted cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses layered with black olives, red onion, lettuce, tomato, mustard and our signature dressing on toasted Sourdough bread.” (From the website.)
Their sandwiches are quite large. I’ve never ordered a large, the mediums are quite enough when you’re at your hungriest.
Their original chips are delicious! Their pizzas are as well. The cheese and pizza is definitely worth trying, also cooked on a sourdough. The bbq chicken looks just as good but it’s hard not to get my favorite sandwich, the turkey and cheese.
Landry's Seafood House: Seafood Goodness
I’ve been to Landry’s three times now, for three consecutive Thanksgiving meals. The first two times were EXTREMELY pleasing and the thought of it makes me wish it were November already. (Note: The Thanksgiving of 2011 left a bit to be desired but 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.) The seafood is amazing: especially the salmon and tilapia. The waiters and waitresses are dressed nicely in white button down shirts with black ties, and prices are higher than you would normally pay. Needless to say, we don’t come here with big parties or every day use. But it’s nice every now and then to pay/eat above normal seafood.
*If you find yourself in Houston (or The Woodlands) next Thanksgiving you may want to try their Traditional buffet for a pre fix $30 or something like that. But the food is AMAZING with traditional fixings and THEN a whole other section of seafood. The wine list is also nice, and all drinks I’ve ordered there have come out very nice. Make sure you make reservations, though in October! It can be up to a 2 hour waiting line… However, if you buy the $25 "Signature Club" card you get a $25 credit on your card and you get on the "prefered" list.
On a beautiful day they have an outdoor seating area that has a beautiful view of the man-made lake/water that surrounds most of The Woodlands.

ROCKFISH SEAFOOD GRILL: OUTSTANDING SEAFOOD
A nice new seafood restaurant and bar within The Woodlands Mall.
They say "Great Seafood, not a lot of clams."
Favorite Dish: Stuffed Flounder $11.04 is great.
Macadamia-crusted Mahi Mahi $14.98 looks great.
Seafood Enchiladas (shrimp, scallops, crawfish) $11.77 tasted great to me.
I also suggest a glass of Blue Paddle beer, brewed at the New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Market Street Restaurants: Variety is the Spice of Life
Market Street is a newly built area just west of the Woodlands Mall and across the street from the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. It's made up of cute, chic shops, restaurants and a movie theatre.
I like to come here on cool nights when the weather is nice. I love sitting outside of La Madeline or any other patio with a nice drink, soaking up the weekend or evening. They have any sort of dining option. They have fancy, valet restarants across the street from cheaper options. Any type of food is here from Mexican to French, Sushi to Asian.
After eating take a stroll around the busy area and maybe have some ice cream or coffee.
Favorite Dish: My favorite is La Madeline...
Cheesecake Factory: EVERYTHING is Good Here....Everything!
The Cheesecake Factory encompasses it all. It has a fun atmosphere, great bar, chic style, nice waiters, great food, and even better dessert. When you hear the name Cheesecake Factory you may think it's only dessert. Oh my goodness, do not make that mistake! The food is absolutely wonderful. The 27 page menu offers variety upon variety. Anything you want is here. Any type of food is available.
And, yes, you have to have some cheesecake. I believe they have over 50 types of cheesecakes with other desserts including cakes and pies.
Not in the mood to sit in a nice dining area? Take some to go! You can order any of the food and dessert to go if you would rather relax in your room.
Do not miss this place! It's a great date place, as well, if you want a special evening.
Again, this is a franchise so there are many restaurants in the area. Check out the store locator on the website to find the one closest to you. The one in the Woodlands is really nice, though, because the outdoor seating is nice if you're on the side facing the water. And it is set right off of the mall so you can shop the calories away.
The other fun thing? It's right beside a Barnes and Noble...so while I wait for the table I go buy a book or two! The red blinking thing works perfectly inside.
Monday - Thursday 11:00 am - 11:00 pm
Friday & Saturday 11:00 am - 12:30 am
Sunday 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
Favorite Dish: The best appetizer is the avacado eggrolls. I would either order these as a meal, though, or share them with others. Although, they do give you wonderful complimentary breads when you get your drink order.
My favorite entree is the spicy chicken nachos (which is actually under the 5 page appetizer menu).
All the cheesecakes are unbelievable!
If you want to order drinks I enjoyed the Mai Tai, and the Godiva Chocolate Martini is strong!
PANERA BREAD: OUR FAVORITE PLACE
NOT FAST FOOD, JUST GOOD FOOD FAST.
COAST TO COAST, PANERA BREAD RESTAURANTS ARE OUR FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT.
Favorite Dish: TURKEY ARTICHOKE PANINI SANDWICH
ALL THEIR SOUPS ARE GREAT
LOVE THEIR SALADS TOO. THEIR HAZELNUT COFFEE IS THE BEST! OH, AND DON'T FORGET THEIR SUPERB BAKERY.
Taco Bueno: Best Fast Food
Yes, America is all about fast food. It's cheap, fast, and easy! Sometimes I even drive from Spring to the Woodlands so I can have this tasty treat. It is great tex-mex food with a lower price. Although loaded in calories I always save one meal to splurge and this is definitely the one!
*No alcohol is available like some places around here though.
Favorite Dish: My favorite meal is the Mucho Nachos (without the chili sauce or refried beans) with a soft beef taco. It is enough for two people, unless you're really hungry!! They put plenty of queso and tomatos on top which I always enjoy. However, because of all the the toppings some of the chips lose their crunch. I love it!! My mom hates nachos like that so be advised!
The tacos both hard and crispy are fantastic. I've heard the tortilla soup is great, although it's usually only available in the colder months. The mexi-dip is also great. You get beans, guacamole, and a cheese puff to dip your chips in.
la Madeleine: Best Outdoor Eating
La Madeline is my new favorite place to eat. The locations are not gigantic but they always have room, although they do get busy during lunch. The tables and chairs are smaller and it just adds a very french feeling to it. It's very well done.
La Madeline serves food, then has a separate bakery and coffee counter. So if you want a great meal or just some yummy dessert this is your place. The food they offer is very light. You'll find a majority of soups, salads, quiches, and sandwiches. I've never found anything I hated. They have complimentary bread with butter and preserves while you're waiting or to eat with your soup or salad.
This is a chain so please check their website to find the one nearest you! However, I would HIGHLY recommend visiting the one in the Woodlands. It's in the Market Square plaza that is a new replica of an old town built up with great shops. They have an outdoor patio that is to die for when the sun goes down. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do in Houston. ESPECIALLY DURING CHRISTMAS!!!
Mon. - Sun. 6:30 AM - 10:00 PM
Picture coming soon...
Favorite Dish: I love their caesar salad, strawberries and sauce, bread. My favorite meal would be the Turkey Ciabatta melt. It's sliced turkey with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard dressing all on ciabatta bread. YUM!!!!
Any of the desserts would blow your socks off. I can never resist the chocolate chip cookie :)
Double Dave's Pizza: Low Key Pizza Joint (For Those with Kids)
The pizza here is awesome! I especially love the buffet on the weekends when you can taste the variety of pizza they have. One of the best things about this place is they serve beer! That way, if you're with the kids you can let them have fun while also enjoying yourself a bit :) But not too much!!
The ambience is very laid back. They have a few video games for the kids. They have nice, big televisions for the sports. The decor is very fun.
**FYI, I took the pictures really late on a Friday night right before they closed ...
Favorite Dish: You have to try the pepperoni rolls! They are delicious!!!
