Barnes and Noble at Woodlands Mall: Authors Galore
Most of the world knows Barnes and Noble, right? The mega bookstore that has any and everything the current bookreader could know or want. The Starbucks and audio/movie section don't hurt either.
What I love most about this particular store, though, is how many TOP authors they have coming here. More than once, mega children's book author, Jon Scieszka, has come. I saw him in October of 2010 and also advertised in July of 2009. While attending the more recent appearance I also saw famous chef, Bobby Flay, was appearing a week later.
If you have children, they also have many different storytimes throughout the week for a free chance for mommies and daddies to have a break :)
Sun 10:00AM-9:00PM | Mon-Thu 9:00AM-10:00PM | Fri-Sat 9:00AM-11:00PM
What to buy: Books, magazines, educational materials, Starbucks, cds, journals, etc. A booklover's dream...
What to pay: They usually have some good bargain bin books that are about 75% off. They offer a fantastic Teacher Award program giving 20% off. Their Barnes and Noble reward program is $30-40 and gets you %10-%15 off everything. So, they have some good discounts that will make the publisher price come down.
Market Street Shopping: Round 2
Market Street is a newly built area just west of the Woodlands Mall and across the street from the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. It's made up of cute, chic shops, restaurants and a movie theatre.
I like to come here on cool nights when the weather is nice. The shops are fun, the coffee shops and ice cream stores provide nice treats if you get hungry while working out your credit card... :) And if you're ready for a night out on the town you have more than one choice of a strong drink and good meal.
What to buy: You have some basic nicer shops like furniture stores, Borders is a fav, and then there are local stores that offer different things. My favorite is a small shop off of the parking garage on the corner. They have the cutest window displays and merchandise.
What to pay: Not really any bargains other than Borders book sales :D
