The best way is to drive . Texas is to pretty to be seen at 30,000 feet.If you had to fly rent a car the drives are nice and public transportation isn't readily available.

In Amercia, I take a car everywhere unless it is a plane going to another state.

Public Transportation not too great, but the Metro goes everywhere. Best thing is to rent a car. The highway traffic is horrible though, try to work around it.
