We had heard that the Rosebud Fountain and Grill offered the best dining experience in Victoria, and our plan was to make that our lunch stop. Unfortunately for us, the Rosebud is closed on Sundays, our only day in town. We still couldn't resist taking a picture of such a uniquely pretty building. Next time in Victoria we'll try it again.
The walls are lined with ball caps and car tags at Skillet's, and the place has the look and feel of a truck stop. It was right at the intersection of two major highways, and a great place for breakfast - especially since it was just a few steps away from the motel where we had spent the night. Skillet's is open 24 hours a day.
Favorite Dish: The Breakfast special can't be beat. For $4.49 I had 3 buttermilk pancakes, 3 sausage links, and two eggs. Karen ordered the four singles breakfast - one each: egg, bacon, sausage, and pancake, only $3.19. They didn't even seem to mind serving me my favorite breakfast beverage: freshly brewed iced tea. A great way to start the day.
