Aircraft. Waco Airport provides service to Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin. You can get anywhere else from there. Plus, due to recent improvements (because of the occasional drop in of President Bush) the Airport is very liveable, although the service is normally fast enough to where you won't have to stay there long. Rent a vehicle, it's worth your time, and take the insurance...lots of college students (aka poor drivers) out there. I'm a college student myself, and even I'm ashamed of their behavior, especially Baylor University students.
Excellent bus system, hardly ever used. Go take a horse-drawn carriage ride from the Hilton downtown to miscellanous points of interest at night.
