Jim's BBQ: BBQ and Catfish
There are two restaurants in Waskom that serve catfish, but I prefer Jim's. Jim's is superior in my opinion because it also serves BBQ, which means if there are people with you that do not like catfish, they will still find something on the menu worth eating. My son, ATXtraveler prefers the fried chicken here, but I go with the grilled catfish filets.
You also get huge portions of drink, but get the to-go cup and you can continue drinking that Sweet Tea once you leave.

David Beard's Catfish Village: Good catfish!
David Beard's is a chain restaurant but the one in Waskom has some extras. It is located on a small lake ... it has a gift shop ... it is currently the largest of this chain. There are plans to add a camp ground on the lake.
Favorite Dish: The catfish. My husband especially likes their hush puppies. He says they remind him of the "fried mush" his mother made for him on cold Illinois mornings.
David Beard's Catfish Village: Seafood the Waskom Way - Fried
This is our new local restaurant in Waskom. We have just recently moved here from California, and really enjoy the catfish.
They also serve their dinners with hush puppies, green tomatoes, beans, and slaw!

David Beard's Catfish Village: New Restaurant in Town!
This is a new restaurant in town... it's bigger than most of David Beard's places. There's a nice gift shop when you come in. The food is good, too :)
Favorite Dish: I like the hush puppies!
David Beard's Catfish King: Don't miss the catfish!!
This is like the Cracker Barrel of Catfish. Great location as the first city in Texas coming from Shreveport, LA.
Favorite Dish: The catfish.
