Waskom is a very sleepy bedroom community. If you are looking for night life, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I would say a good number of residents are in their home by 7pm, and many including myself are asleep by 9pm!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In the winter time, it can get quite cold in Waskom, so make sure you bring the appropriate amount of clothing. I prefer a nice warm down jacket from about November through to March. Quite often, you will see snow in March! Also, bear in mind that there are a lot of pine trees in this area, which means will keep the temperature down.

Favorite thing: We have found a wonderful church home at First Baptist Church Waskom. The pastor, Leland Crawford is an excellent speaker, and his message is reaching hundreds of people every week. We are overjoyed with the fact that we have found this wonderful place to meet others.
