This picnic spot was one of the earliest developed areas of White Rock Lake Park. Right beside Dixon Branch Creek, this area was probably picked because of the grove of trees already present here.
There are 11 miles of cycling trails circling the lake. Dallas’ first dog park opened here at White Rock Lake in 2001.
The shoreline measure 9.5 miles. This lake was constructed in 1911 and was Dallas’ first water reservoir.
This garden is dedicated to all women and is the most formal garden at the Aboretum. It was built on the White Rock Lake side of the DeGolyer home. There is a reflecting pool and a Poetry Garden.
Autumn is Halloween time at the Aboretum. You will see several displays of halloween colours as you venture around the gardens.
With White Rock Lake in the background. Bench seats line this small area for sitting and reflecting - very tranquil.
