There are all the usual fast food chain places. A several Mexican restaurants, one on Ballard Street, a couple of Italian on Hwy 78. There is also the Ballard Street Cafe and Grill and Jims Pizza in the downtown area.
Biggest amount of barbeque meat for the money. Mainstream barbeque restaurants tend to deliver skimpy portions. This hole in the wall barbeque is worth my 25 minute drive. Also, the whole inside is littered with old western memorabilia such as, Wanted: Dead or Alive posters, old western photos and a few classic 6 shooters.
Favorite Dish: The 2 meat (beef, sausage) platter with coleslaw and baked beans + Texas toast.
This is one of those great old fashioned downtown type of ice cream palour you see in all the Happy Days type movies. Worth taking a look inside even if you are not tempted.
This is one of three Chinese restaurants in Wylie that I saw. They have online ordering and are right in the main street of Wylie. Seemed to be quite popular.
