Upon returning to Highway 24 from the scenic drive, heading west you'll have the opportunity to see several prominent formations. The first is The Castle. There's a pulloff to view this formation.

Helpfulness
As its name suggests, this is not the place to be during a thunderstorm. But Grand Wash is a spectacular example of the stunning formations that comprise the landscape of Capitol Reef.

this trail is really nice and also easy - its only about 2 km long and u walk to a big natural bridge - after ur there keep walking to the other side of the bridge

It is not hard to imagine the colorfully hued rock formations of Utah being submerged under a sea of blue. They would perhaps fit better there than sitting incongruously on the planet's exterior....
