    Serenidad: Eclectic

by Segolily Updated Feb 8, 2014

I put this gallery under local craft, but really it is a little bit of everything. The owner, Harriet Priska, is a painter, and her paintings are on display along with other local artists. There are also ceramics, jewelry, pawn shop type items, thrift store pieces, antiques, and even some local rocks.

by Segolily Updated Feb 8, 2014

This is the Gallery of a local photographer. Tracy Hassett's photos are stunning and unique and of the surrounding area. He also features other local artists with photos, jewelry and unique items. He is glad to share information about the area and talk about the places he's found for great photos.

    Sculptured furniture: Art in Wood

by Segolily Written Feb 8, 2014

Just outside of town is perhaps the most unique shop. Owned by David and Brigitte Delthoney. They each have their own art. David sculpts furniture into works of wonder. Brigitte creates pottery with an ancient technique and look.

To visit their shop is to have a tour rather than just looking around. The showroom is in a corner of David's workplace with giant belts and saws and other types of machinery. And in that work room are chairs and desks, whatever he happens to have on hand at the time. They are ergonomic, comfortable and beautiful. I didn't ask how much they were, I could tell it was way beyond what I was looking for. But it would be great to have something from him.

Brigitte's pottery is patterned after the Anasazi, and having one of her pots feels a little like having a legal ancient work.

Take a visit. Outside they also have a good variety of rocks for sale.

Cottom's Grocery: Food store and more

by Segolily Written Feb 8, 2014

This is a little bare, but it has the essentials, if maybe not in the variety or brands you are familiar with. It also seems to act as defacto clearing house for what's happening in town.
