Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride
There are numerous companies in the area that conduct sleigh rides. We happened to go on one at night with the Snowed Inn Sleigh Company. It was very cold, but the stars were shining bright. It was quite romantic. Afterward we had dinner in the sleigh house. The food was great, and the cobbler for dessert was unbelievably good.
Utah Winter Sports Park
If you are here in the winter this is a fun place to go for a few hours just to see some unique winter sports take place. All the sledding sports such as bobsled, luge, and skeleton take place here. So do the ski jumping events. Even if there are no competitions going on at the moment, there is always someone practicing. This makes for a fun afternoon. In the summer, aerial skiing practice is done here with a slope that sends the skier twisting into a huge pool of water.
There are many different snowmobile companies that operate throughout the Park City area. We happened to choose the High Country Snowmobile Company 1/2-day tour. This was a lot of fun for both my wife and I. We shared a snowmobile and took turns driving. This will get you to places in the mountains that would take too much time and energy to hike to with snowshoes. The scenery from the top of the mountains will blow you away. As will the thrill of riding the snowmobile.
OLYMPIC TRAINING AND SPEED THRILL RIDES
The Utah Olympic Park is located in Park City just before you get to the historic Old Town center. Tours are offered at the center and if you are lucky enough to be there when the Olympic athletes are around then you might catch them training. Things that you can do vary from Zip Line rides that are fast and steep to bobsled rides. The bobsled rides are two fold. In the winter, the bobsled run uses the same run as was used in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The ride is expensive, but thrilling as you ride the full track with speeds up to 80 mph in the one minute ride. Woof, that's fast. In the Summer, the bobsled grows wheels, lol, well, no snow or ice. It may sound funny but the speeds can get up to 70 mph and the cost is one quarter of the winter ride.
I think I will stick to the tour of the grounds which includes a ski museum, shops and theater. Now, that's more my speed. lol. If you go to Park City, winter or summer, make the Utah Olympic Park part of your visit. Open daily from 10 am till 6 pm and admission is free. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day and Easter.

Best in high end skiing!
Deer Valley is one of the best! From ski valets that unload your skis and boots and help you kids out of the car to the shuttles in the parking lot, to the 4 star food and great mountain side service this place rocks. And whats best no boarders cutting up the mountain or clogging the lifts or slopes.
Great all around ski mountain
Park City is a great complement to the high end feel of Deer Valley. A larger and more varied set of runs. A good balance is to ski Deer Valley a couple days and Park City inbetween. Then you get an appreciation for what a pest them boarders are!
Well - I guess if I had to say that Park City was know for anything it is for the Sundance Film Festival. The festival adds a ton of people and even worse many many cars. During Sundance we call it ‘NO PARK City’ as there is nearly no parking available to accommodate the wealth of cars that come our way. The other thing that we get is the casual celeb’s. It is nice (having lived in Cali) to see the LA types out in non formal wear at the Premiers as just one of the gang. This year’s line up is a fantastic one and we expect to have many people in and out of here. I can only hope that with all of the craziness – than I have lovingly dubbed ‘hell week’ we will also get a chance to enjoy some great films. Tonight (Friday) we saw the premier of Delirious, with Steve Buscemi and Mick Pitt and Alison Lohman. It was directed by Tom DiCillo (a Sundance returnee). It is a funny movie about a celeb photographer than takes in a homeless kid as his assistant and how Hollywood grabs a hold of the kid and then he becomes the object of the photographers’ lens. Sort of – at any rate, lots of great one liners and worth seeing. I’ll update this more later but so far – we have survived day two of Sundance.

The hills are alive with the sound of music!
During the summer months (from late-July to mid-August) the Snow Park Lodge is host to the Deer Valley Music Festival in conjunction with the Utah Symphony. This is a great way to meet the locals as everyone seems to attend. The seating is split into three sections. Stage left is the blanket side; the middle is reserved and to your right is the lawn chair area. If I had to recommend a side it would be the blanket side. We pack a nice dinner (food and drinks are okay) and bring it in an ice chest (with wheels), a tarp with a comfy blanket to top, and the low rise lawn chairs. You will see others with elaborate meals of fine cheese, fruits, summer pasta and of course wine. I have seem some meals that would make a chef proud!
The benefit of sitting on the blanket side is that you can get closer to the stage as most sit on the chair side and you get a great view of the sunset over the hills to the west. Then, what few know is that if you have a beach chair (the type that is low to the ground) you can use that on the blanket side. Shhh don’t tell anyone. =)
Even after the music festival is over there are still other opportunities to go and enjoy music in the hills as they have concerts throughout the summer months.

Papillon Spa at Westgate Resort.
so you're done with your skiing. it's 17:00 and your plane does not take off until 23:00. head right to Westgate resort. Right at the base of the Canyons. Quick circle to the main entrance ... get a card from a Valet. Park in the indoor parking garage and go straight to the Papillon Spa at Westgate Resort. $17 a visit is not much, when what you get is an excellent spa - even if you decided not to get a massage (a mistake), a great jacuzzi, ever-present pitchers of cold water with slices of oranges, towels, robes, slippers. If you're brave enough - venture over to the fifth floor (as if you are a guest at the place) to the pool ... half inside, half outside, with an outside jacuzzi. you won't be sorry. matter of fact - if I ever go there again I will stay here.

Mountain Bike the Wasatch Crest Trail
Mountain biking the Wasatch crest trail above Park City is one of my favorite rides. I usually shuttle a car and start near Guardsman Pass behind Park City. We then ride up Puke Hill near the backside of Scott's bowl at PCMR. From there you ride the crestline of the mountains between Park City and Big Cottonwood Canyon. The views are simply amazing and the singletrack is awesome among the aspens and pines. We usually ride down near Murdoch Peak at The Canyons.
Take a ride on the Union Railroad
You can catch a ride on the Union Pacific Railroad, it uses an old coal burning engine that pulls the cars, you can see the engine here as it comes to attach to the line of cars it will pull over the 10 mile track.

Hot Air Ballon Ride
If you take one of the several hot air ballon flights in Park City, you are in for a special treat, you can see forever it seems. We were lucky and we had a crystal clear day.
Ski Park City
Great runs, lots of high speed chairs. They even have high speed six-packs! That, for sure, moves the line quickly.
Ski! Of course!
This is simply the best skiing anywhere. I know the neighbors in Colorado would argue that point. But from my perspective, powder does not get and better than it is in Park City.
View from the Ski Lifts!
This is a picture I took at the top of a ski lift at Deer Valley Ski Resort. The views were so breathtaking that I almost dropped my camera!!!
