Favorite thing: Piute Lake State Park is on the northern end of Piute Reservoir, on the Sevier Plateau, a short distance east of US Highway 89. As you might expect, most of the recreational activities are water related, e.g. boating and fishing (mainly trout and bass); but there is also a campground and a couple of hiking trails. You can also look for the wildlife, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Day use fees are $5, primitive camping sites are $10. The park is 41 miles from Panguitch and about 200 miles from Salt Lake City.
