Tucanos... Brazilian Restaurant.
This is where I met Glenda ( VT member La_Beba), Glenda's account of our meeting can be found HERE
Favorite Dish: The Churasco, this is meat, meat of many varieties, served on long skewers. You can eat as much as you like, until you are fit to burst. Served with salads and accompanied by Brazilian beer or Lemonade ( actually made from limes )
Bombay House: Bombay House
This cozy restaraunt has a charming atmosphere that takes you away from the traffic and noise outside.
Favorite Dish: It is impossible to call any one item my favorite. You will, of course, find no beef here, but in addition to the many chicken dishes they have a fantstic selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes.
Demae: Cheappest sushi ever!!!!!!!
The sushi is great..... well, but there ain't bad sushi ever (in my opinion)..... or at least I haven't encountered a bad piece of sushi in my lifetime......
and every Tuesday night they have Sushi Special........ consists of a good selection of different rolls for $3 per roll!!!!!!!!!!!! some rolls at $2 each! and all the nigiri sushi for $2 as well!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I swear....... this is HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (for us sushi lovers)
I know we over did it a bit by ordering 17 rolls (check picture out! yikes!!!!!!!) but hey, we had sushi next day, and even left over sushi is wonderful to me! This place absolutely ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! but get there early because if you dont, you'll have to wait a while (it's very popular)
Especially Provo being a college/students town....... I mean, it gets packed!!!!!!!!!!!
The first time we went (because now we've made it a "weekly date") one group had ordered only 3 rolls and they had been waiting 45 mins when they finally decided to leave!
We always go at opening time (5pm)
Favorite Dish: Avocado roll
Hamachi roll (yellow tail tuna roll)
Hana roll (shrimp tempura and avocado)
Crispy roll (tempura California roll)
Philadelphia roll (salmon, cream cheese and cucumber)
Zupas: excellent soup & salads
I've been staying in Provo for about a week now and have eaten at Zupas 4 times now. I normally try and get out a bit and find all the interesting places, but zupas has me sold.
Every visit i have tried a different soup and a different salad and everyone has been excellent!
Great prices, awesome food, what more could you want.
Favorite Dish: get the meal deal (2 items of the menu) and they give you bread for your soup and a chocolate dipped strwaberry for desert!

Pudding on the rice: awesome rice pudding
how's this for a concept, all these guys do is rice pudding!
this apparently is the first one they have opened, i was chatting with the owner, his wife is responsible for the recipes and he and his brother are business partners in it.
They have about 16 different flavours of rice pudding which can be found on their website and if you get the larger serving they have some really funky little containers they serve it in.
Favorite Dish: the blueberry is my favorite so far, but with two weeks to sample the various flavours ... this may change :)

Einstein Bros. Bagels: Great mochas!
If one is in a hurry, fast food restaurants are great and the food is not always bad or mediocre. Often it is pretty good food (sometimes, it can be perfect for the immediate concern) and when you travel, you often find situations when a quick bite is needed. That is where the predictability of chains becomes a safe bet.
I'd catalogue Einstein more as an eatery anyways
The average Einstein's has a homey decor with aforementioned nice lighting. You move through a line to place your order and pay at a register at the end of the counter. The staff is usually very quick in executing your order. There are simply tables with metal chairs. Nothing fancy here. It’s just a bagel and a cup of coffee not a gourmet meal. They do have a number of newspapers out for those inclined to catch up on the news.
This is more beneficial in the branches you might visit when traveling out of state and you can catch up on all the sports scores :o)
This is like the Starbucks of Chewy Mounds of Dough!
It’s a relaxed atmosphere when it’s not overly crowded. There are times when a table is simply not to be found (around lunch time = but does that surprise anybody!?)
While I have the admitted preference for unique shops, it is good to see an Einstein Brothers. I have eaten quick breakfasts and lunches in these places in a number of different cities, they provide a nice change of pace. These bagel shops offer a tasty and reasonable meal. This would be woefully inadequate for a dinner but Einstein Brothers is perfect for a quick bite. You can consult their website to see if there's a branch nearby.
Favorite Dish: I have developed a fondness for bagels over the years. A good bagel shop can provide adequate sustenance at a reasonable price. It is also healthier than filling up on fast food burgers.
They usually have a wide range of bagels and “schmears”. You can also get a variety of sandwiches made. They even have specialty bagels that are trotted out from time to time. These top shelf bagels include a Spinach Florentine and a Spicy Nacho bagel. They can be had for a mere 99 cents. The regular bagels are sold for a mere 69 cents. This is cheap and it’s healthier than chomping down a dried out burger with processed cheese.
Of course, they also make sandwiches. You will have a choice of panini sandwiches, challah rolls or bagels. I often get a turkey pastrami sandwich on a poppy seed bagel.
Hummus & Feta is delicious! They also have a variety of schmears. This would be the way to go if you want to save money. You can get a bagel with jalapeno spread and a cup of coffee for under 5 bucks. There are free refills for coffee if you eat there. They usually offer a few specialty coffees like French Vanilla, hazelnut or Antigua Guatemala.
They have soups and salads and pastries as well. Their cookies are like homemade!!! and their coffee is very good! (especially their Cafe Mocha)
They sell bagels by the baker’s dozen and offer tubs of their variety of schmears.
