Deer Valley was the venue for the Women's Moguls event at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. This is a view from the slopes of the valley at the foot of the resort.
Deer Valley is perhaps a bit over groomed, but most people visiting Deer Valley seem to like the steep groomed runs. It also has a few black diamond runs that are not groomed, so challenging runs can be found. This is one of the few (if not only) resorts in Utah that does not permit snowboarding. The food is much better here than at most ski resorts. There is no question that Deer Valley is a class act.
In my opinion, the best thing about this place is the close proximity of the many ski/board places.
Fondest memory: I had agreat time at all of the resorts, except The Canyons. Overpriced, snooty atmosphere, and super packed slopes = really bad time. When you leave the slopes early, not because you are tired, but because you are tired of all the people, you have offically gone to the wrong resort.
Favorite thing: Go Hiking, Go Snowboarding/Skiing, Go climbing, every landscape in Salt Lake it beautiful. This is where I live. I really love Salt Lake. Other than the 2002 olympics construction right now, this is a very nice place. Temple Square is very beautiful, and an extremely hot tourist spot. You wouldn't believe the lights at Christmas time.
