Tower from the plane by grandmaR When I arrived in Salt Lake, another traveler commented to me that the airport was going to be a giant mega-bottleneck during the Olympics because it was so inefficiently managed. They couldn't even tell us which carousel our luggage would arrive on. We only got to see the 2002 Winter Olympics on TV, so that didn't worry me too much. Bob was recovering from his heart attack, and it was an interesting thing to watch at that time. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Fly on in to the airport there. From there you can rent cars (recommended) or take a shuttle to a hotel, if you're staying in town. I still recommend a car, SUV in the winter. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

definitely by air, unless you live nearby By car, unless you plan to spend your entire trip in the downtown area. But there's so much to see outside the city that a car is really necessary. You can take a shuttle bus to the ski areas. Theme: Airplane

The easiest way to get to Park City is to fly into Salt Lake City and rent a car or take a shuttle from the airport. Shuttles run at almost any hour of the day and cost about 25 dollars. To get around town, if you don't have a rental car, there are taxi vans that can be called. They can take you anywhere in and around town for 2-5 dollars. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

I flew in and out of Salt Lake City Airport which is just west of downtown and just south of the Great Salt Lake. This is the only major airport in the region and is Delta's second largest hub. In recent years the airport has handled some 22 million passengers, making it America's 22nd largest airport. Leave a Comment

Southwest has a great schedule but a no frills airplane. Getting to SLC was tough. I have never experienced a delay or missed a flight ever! So, to have both happen in the same trip was discouraging. Oh well, we endured. SLC airport is pretty organized. Not too big. Theme: Airplane

Public transportation in SLC is not the greatest...making the TRAX lines though improved the things to some extent...but still in SLC it's better to rent a car; trafic is not bad and it's easy to find parking downton Leave a Comment Theme: Other
