    Golf Course

by grandmaR Updated Jun 24, 2005

I don't play golf, but I took this picture from the plane, which shows that Salt Lake City's sports possibilities are not limited to winter sports, swimming in the lake or hiking.

This is probably Wingepointe, which is right there at the Salt Lake International Airport, and the airport is not at all far from the city itself. West Ridge Golf Course at 5600 West is about 15 minutes south of the airport. It is closer to West Valley and South Valley lodging properties

Equipment: Salt Lake City has a tee-time reservation service that allows you to reserve a tee time at any golf course operated by Salt Lake City 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's free to register for this service

    Jordan River Parkway

by Segolily Updated Jul 20, 2010

I wish there could be more options for activities. Because along the Jordan River Parkway you can do it all....biking, running, skating, kayaking, baby walking, dog walking, birding.

The Jordan River runs from Utah Lake through the "Jordan Narrows" into Salt Lake Valley, then north through Salt Lake Valley to empty into the Great Salt Lake. It effectively cuts Salt Lake Valley in half with the East and West sides defined partly by the river and partly by State Street and I-15, that run parallel.

The Parkway includes trails, bridges, parking areas, playgrounds and boat launching areas. It runs the length of the Valley and has entryways at numerous spots along the way. It is a level trail so not strenuous at all.

If you are looking for a nice running path or bike trail, this might work for you.
