Park City, Salt Lake City
Just 10 miles east of Orem Utah is beautiful Sundance. Hidden 2 miles up in the mountains this tiny town was the original location for the yearly Sundance Film Festival. Though Sundance still holds up to 40 screenings a year, the headquarters is now in Park City.
Sundance is a gorgous spot. Wonderful pictures and history of the festival. Great cabins and of course skiing and snowboarding
Olympic Park just outside of Park City is a sight to behold. Being originally from Atlanta it was great to host the olympics and experienc the Olympic Village in downtown Atlanta. After moving to SLC the Olympic Park and Park City just blew me away...Absolutly Gorgeous. If you can scratch of 200.00 you should Bobsled.
Annually, Utah has the Sundance Film Festival. It is hosted at, of course, Sundance! This resort is privately owned (See next tip). It mainly showcases independent films that few people have heard of, but sometimes the movies reach mainstream. While most films are unrecognizable to most, the film stars who are in them and who attend the festival, are not.
This is a historic little mining town that is now a major ski resort. The historic main street is full of fun little gift shops. This is also the international headquartes of Mrs. Fields Cookies. So, go & get a sample. The deli on the Main Street is also the best place to have lunch!!
You can be in Park City in less than an hour's drive from SLC. I recommend it for a day trip, or more.
Park City Ski Resort
Former mining community that's now Utah's premier ski resort, and also home to the Sundance Film Festival.
