Torrey is right in the middle of Capitol Reef National Park: the main reason the majority of visitors come here. For information about things to see and do in the park area, see my Capitol Reef pages.
Capitol Reef National Park is about 10 miles east of Torrey. The park's main attraction is a nearly 100 mile uplifting of the earth's surface known as the Waterpocket Fold. The main road through the park is its 25 mile scenic drive, which passes historical remnants of wagon trains and pioneering communities and continues on towards some spectacular scenery.

With a camera and a pair of walking shoes, you can kill an hour or so puttering around town and finding some interesting things to point a lens at.
Yep, pretty quiet place, Torrey.
