About 30 minutes south of Middlebury, on Hwy 7, is the quaint and charming town of Brandon. This village has the biggest Independence Day festival in Vermont. A beautiful country town with an old fashioned Ice Cream Palor, a cool bookstore with nice furniture to chill in, great gazebo in park, and a nice waterfall which runs through the center of town. Great place to step back in time and appreciate the finer things in life. Great drive down 7 South as well, excellent foilage.

they say drop on by ... I never have but I can imagine a family with young kids enjoying it --
many local eating establishments serve their chicken and turkey and it is really tasty.
