The Shelburne Railroad Station, Now A Museum Piece
The Shelburne Railroad Station, built in 1890, was moved to the Shelburne museum in 1954. Things to see include a steam engine (just barely visible under the shed in this photo), built in 1915 in Schenectady, NY, and dubbed "The Locomotive of the Presidents" becaused it hauled a number of US Presidents in its working life.

Traveling with animals
I understand that the factory can get very crowded. We chose to travel before the schools got out this year and found that we had very little wait time wherever we went, with the exception of Friendlys Restaurant. We went to 4 different Friendlys on 4 different nights in 2 states and managed to hit graduation celebrators in every one!
The parking lot at the Teddy Bear Factory was spacious and not crowded, giving us the opportunity to choose a good spot for the dogs. I'd recommend traveling off season if you don't like crowds.
