Darkside: Darkside Snowboard Shops

by Florida999

There is a Darkside Snowboard shop in Stowe and one in Ludlow. Both are great for getting anything snowboard related, or renting boards. My son ( still growing) has rented one for several years from them and was very happy with the boards. They even installed his bindings on their boards. Snowboards ( rentals also) and snowboard equipment We paid around $100 for a week's rental of a Burton snowboard

Church Street Marketplace: Charming Street Shopping

by DueSer

Church Street is lined with dozens of restaurants and shops in all price ranges and all interests. The shops include chains like Borders Books as well as small local businesses selling Vermont souvenirs like maple syrup and pewter items. There's always something going on in the middle too - street performers, carts selling snacks, and a little train for the kids runs the length of the street. It's a charming place to visit. Dairy products, maple products, and pewter. The street has shops in all price ranges.

AJ's: Ski Shop

by Florida999

The very helpful young guy at AJ's ( Tom? I think...) pretty much saved me a few hundred $ in new ski boots by "fixing" the ones I have....thank you! It is nice when you find someone being helpful, instead of just trying to sell you something.( my ski boots were too tight around my ankles and he heated them, and stretched them a little, it did the trick! One place recommended that I buy new ski boots, for $400, a size SMALLER. Hello!! I think them being a little tight was the problem in the first place....)We also rented Colin's snowboarding equipment there. Ski and snowboarding equipment. They make Burton snowboards right in Vermont. You can rent equipment at this store for a reasonable amount and they are very helpful fixing things also. My son's snowboarding equipment was around $100 for 5 days rental

Dobra Tea: Just to be sure

by guanyin

Thanks for the comments on the tearoom. As an employee since opening, maybe I am out of place, but I just want to make sure the facts are straight. We actually don't offer coffe at all, but are pretty strictly tea and light fare. We do offer to-go in mason jars, but for a variety of reasons and, last but certainly not least, I can't think of a single tea we have that costs $15-20 for 2 grams! Our ethic revolves around everyday tea drinking, and slowing down to do so. Plain and simple. Therefore, we try to keep a large selection of fine, quality, but affordable teas. . .teas you can afford to drink everyday, and they average $2-4/oz!Thanks again for all the other comments. . .happy tea drinking!-burlington devotea An average bill for two sitting down is about $15.

Green Mountain Gringo Salsa: Green Mountain Gringo-Best Salsa in New England!

by Osmun79

Green Mountain Gringo has been making salsa since around 1993. The place is family owned and I went to school with the daughter of one of the owners. Located just before the main downtown depot of Chester on the Chester-Springfield Rd the place is spacious and the salsa is very good, They even make a very good Green Salsa for a little variety. Obviously, the Salsa. You can get it in a small Mason Jar or a Family Size Mayo Jar. The small jar retails for about $6 while the big jar is around $10-11. See Above.

Peace and Justice store: good place for bumper stickers

by Osmun79

The Peace and Justice store is an activist hangout and has lots of handcrafts and literature to support local and national causes. I often use it to find another witty bumper-sticker to slap on my guitarcase. They also have lots of postcards, hackey sacks, and alternative magazines. I buy crazy liberal bumper stickers here, but they also carry alot of good mags like Tikkun, Tricycle, Outdoor Life, Mother Jones. stuff ranges from 10 cents to 75 bucks for some handicrafts.

Dobra Tea: Where to buy loose leaf tea in Burlington

by Osmun79

Dobra tea is located just off Church St near the Parking Garage and is a neat little place. You can buy loose leaf tea as well as Fair Trade coffee here and their tea selection is amazing. Be aware that they are tremendously "earth-friendly" and that any hot tea will be served in a mason jar with a napkin wrapped around it (which tends to scorch your poor hands) which is kind of stupid but commonplace. The 20-something behind the counter is knowledgeable about tea and can help you out alot in your selection. I personally like the Dragon Balls Green tea balls (literally) and the Morrocan Mint teas the best, and I have bought both in different quantities. Ask them about there specials. A 2 Gram jar/bag of tea will cost you around $15-20, but you should check the price list.
